i'm running iwaki and resund md55 side by side now. for those guys who feel md55 is quiet. give the iwaki a go. it's near silent compared to the resun. resun has got this irritating hum probably due to the fan.

hi kim, if you are talking abt plating montipora, it will recover and show growth pretty quick. the last time when i discovered patches of white (probably nudis), i took it out and scrap those areas. after 1 wk, new tissue and polyps start to grow. like what deepblue says, once it starts to stress and lose tissue very quickly, then good luck. sometimes u can even smell that it's a goner. but do monitor and wish u well. cheers

my BLVs are into 9th month. the colour sux big time. without my actinic t5s, i wouldn't want to look at the tank. as for 250W SE 14K, u've got prob hamilton (14K), or giesemann megachrome (13K) or aquaconnect (14K). however for AC 14K, u can either order overseas or wait for some LFS to carry such product as it's not available now. i'm looking to changing to 14K also for a more pleasing look

let's face it and i'm guilty as well of being a Singaporean (only from a certain point of view. for your info, i still sing mari kita when watching NDP!!! nothing wrong being a Singaporean. we want the best, will queue for the best and will fight for the best. comparing now and then is a like comparing educaton when i was in primary school and kids now in primary. how to compare? we used to catch grasshoppers, have fun, buy 10cents ice cream, dirty our schools from muddy fields, buy tikum. there wasn't any montesorri, kumon or what have u? yes we have rich friends or shd i say kids who are well-off. they carry new bags, wear new football shoes. yes we are jealous but we play soccer, we have fun and treat all equally. do we really get mad abt u being rich, have more ice cream sticks or rubber? even at that time, spending money on rubber or ice-cream is still ok right? now what have the kids? mobile phones, game boys, pokemon, etc... they become more competitive. spend so much time on violin, drama, ballet, piano, tuition. what happens? people set up drama schools, DIY tuition, teach violin and piano to make money right? does it sound familiar? can u afford to change mobile phones all the time like we do with rubber? we're driven by market conditions. if u are a parent and found a tuition school cheaper with same results, why not switch your loyalty? gone were the days when we stick to our 'family' tuition teacher!!! i wonder if readers can relate to this change in environment or are the kids in here too young. don't get me wrong? no offence to kids or younger reefers. i envy u for having such a competitive environment to live in. u waste no time, fight for the best and be the best. if you think i'm bullshitting, switch off and chill! else reflect. give reefers who can spend a break, give reefers who are willing to be ugly a break give LFS who are bringing in quality stuff respect give LFS who are giving u good service respect you choose your life! juz like i choose to be disappointed with several reefers and LFS and i still habour hope that i'll change my opinion soon. sorry for being cynical

great. i see a couple of issues mentioned here. think i'll just speak whatever i feel is appropriate. FRAGGING AT LFS it is a total disgrace when someone actually does that at any lfs for personal benefits. i do not agree that many hands will screw up the colony into pieces. unless dropped from heights. i see that generally reefers are pretty careful with such expensive items. what are u gonna do with small frags? culture them in our tank and wait for them to be sizable to frag and resell? please lah. if someone can do that, might as well buying the larger colonies for instant gratification/returns. give these lfs a break and some respect. STOP THIS NONSENSE! HUGE SUPPLY OF SPS i'm glad that more shipments of sps are beginning to reach our small island. it does benefit consumers like us. we have more choices and it'll hopefulyl instill more competivite pricing and better customer service. i'm not being 'gian png' by that statement but i'm really pretty sick of hearing abt the high risks and low profit excuses. it's all abt huge demand with low supply. i understand that price tag previously but i do thing lfs shd be acclimatizing to market conditions as we prepare to spend more on quality pieces. maybe i'm wrong but we do expect better service actually. FRAGGING TO SUSTAIN HOBBY who can blame reefers for fragging and sustaining the hobby by selling/exchanging frags. no LFS can stop that. please be logical. as long as the lfs gets good supply of sps at reasonable price, we will still make the purchase right? there are many ways to make customers happy. i for one have been greatly disappointed by some but will still continue to support in hope for a change in attitude. no choice right if that lfs has good stuff! hope these statements don't overpiss some people. it's my point of view and maybe i do echo some other reefers thoughts too. else just treat this reply as BS and wipe it off pls.
