  1. The whole shop sells marine LS only and is attended by an elderly couple. They have a banner indicating marine LS behind the shop where the car park is... that;s how I spotted the shop. My all along "kuai" flame angle is now playing the bad guy... keep chasing the poor fellow from time to time..... Bought the cyclopeeze just now... but so far all my LS and coral enjoying it except the anthias...... that's see how it goes the next two days....
  2. Thanks for the replies. My tanks tried to bully it initially. Now seems ok. Bought this at one of those luo han converted LFS at Serangoon North. Was the only one there. Guess these shops sometimes also got "ho liao". Only concern is their water quality and condition of the LS.... keep my fingers crossed....
  3. Bought at S$35..... hope its not just a nice damsel.....
  4. Anyone managed to log in and downloaded anything.... so far sounds very "conning"!!
  5. opps.... hope we are not starting WW3 here... my wife better not see this..... ladies... any counter-attacks....
  6. A store that sells husbands has just opened in Ottawa where a woman may go to choose a husband from among many men. The store is comprised of 6 floors, and the men increase in positive attributes as the shopper ascends the flights. There is, however, a catch. As you open the door to any floor you may choose a man from that floor, but if you go up a floor, you cannot go back down except to exit the building. So a woman goes to the shopping center to find a husband. On the first floor the sign on the door reads: Floor 1 - These men have jobs. The woman reads the sign and says to herself, "Well, that's better than my last boyfriend, but I wonder what's further up?" So up she goes. The second floor sign reads: Floor 2 - These men have jobs and love kids. The woman remarks to herself, "That's great, but I wonder what's further up?" And up she goes again. The third floor sign reads: Floor 3 - These men have jobs, love kids and are extremely good looking. "Hmmm, better" she says. "But I wonder what's upstairs?" The fourth floor sign reads: Floor 4 - These men have jobs, love kids, are extremely good looking and help with the housework. "Wow!" exclaims the woman, "very tempting. BUT, there must be more further up!" And again she heads up another flight. The fifth floor sign reads: Floor 5 - These men have jobs, love kids, are extremely good looking, help with the housework and have a strong romantic streak. "Oh, mercy me! But just think... what must be awaiting me further on?" So up to the sixth floor she goes. The sixth floor sign reads: Floor 6 - You are visitor 3,456,789,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please. Thank you for shopping Husband Mart and have a nice day.
  7. hope seawater from the farms won't go up as well....
  8. My experience with this is negative... Followed instruction but it showed that my tank CA level is > 600, impossible as I would have a milky-looking tank.... planning to get the Salifert or something brand... known here to be accurate, though pricey.....
  9. I point a long straw at its hiding location and dropped some pellets into the hiding spot for the first few days to make sure it has something to eat.... at least it will not starve... bought two purple ones that were hiding all the time.... managed to save one... now its more daring these days and does some guest appearance on some days....
  10. The bottom circle looks like a kind of worm that will secrete "web" to catch its food... very irritating thing the web... i used a sharp point to try to kill it but it just withdraws inwards. Have it all over my tank and one on my clam as well....
  11. another mix and match.. noticed my the virgin SPS in my tank....
  12. Mix and match pics... My Minolta F100 not great with macro shots... but maybe its the photographer...
  13. Do you guys using flakes find that they go "fungus" real fast as compared to pellets? My first and last can did not last a month as they simply disintegrate into powder form.....
  14. Hi All This new brand recently came into the market and I have been using the one that has Spirulina + garlic - seems a very good combination pellet to have.... Its been a month but few observations: 1. my fishes lose interest after eating a few of them each time I feed. 2. no apparent benefit controlling ick (whitespot) as my blue tang still have some traces ick on its body. The above is in comparison to Spectrum Brand Pellets (finished and could not find it so far) that I have been using. The fishes loves it and it has helped controlled my tank's ick problem well. Anyone with similar or differing views?
  15. maybe even use fellow reefters to help out to ran the place... no salary but free live stock....
  16. my dream is to open a LFS with built-in sump... no... cafe where reefters can hang out talking you know what... when night fallls, just on/off the actinic lights to have a party......
  17. don't buy it just because its the year of the monkey...... even some branded marine supplements are remoured to be just "sugar" water - does no harm but does no good as well.....
  18. Does this pic tell what kind of ballast it is? So far my tank is doing well - less the algae bloom on my glass tank surface and LR - not sure its because of the UV-filter glass or changing from BLV 10K to CV 10K.
  19. How long has your DSB been up? I think it will be at least 6 months to 1 year before its functional.... my set up for info - lower to upper layers - - egg crate lifted by PVC pipes (to create dead space in-between) - followed by fibre glass netting over the crate - coral chips about 1 inch plus - No1 coral sand about 1 inch - less than 1 inch of "agargonate" sand (10 kg) - 2-3 inches of No1 coral sand again Set up in 1.5 years already... never had issue with N03 at all..... The above is called the plenum method... hope i got the spelling right.
  20. Came across these sites and thought its a interesting read for us all. http://coralreef.nus.edu.sg./ http://rmbr.nus.edu.sg/nudibranch/main.html
  21. No, we are more "advanced" than this... get OSIM foot massager for them... ideally ones that are faulty and short circuit easily.... opps, I think my brother-in-law is surfing here somewhere....
  22. Wet cloth will leave water marks for sure... try newspaper sprayed with glass cleaner solution... but clean off any salt residue with a very damp cloth first as it will scratch the surface..
  23. While most of you are thinking what to buy... Every year I spent all my ANG POW money.... by giving away Ang Pow.... its a privilege for being married...
