How to add a second one that will not result to fighting. How to know the ###### of a shrimp, so that if my current one is female i will look for a male.
Hi Experts,
Will the flame angel fish nip on mushroom, sun, alveopora, leather, toadstool corals? Planning to get one? Any other dwarf angel that you can recommend that will be safe for the corals mentioned?
Well, I have a diamond goby, been with me for a month and is doing OK. Initially. I thought it won't survive as i don't have much left over food in the sand. I tried to target feed but once I put the plastic tube in the water, it would ran to its cave under the rock. Now, every evening it is waiting for food from me. Really good in cleaning/stirring sand though I dont have coral in the sand.
I want also. I want to get a mandarin but want to have a population of pod first?

How come you have in your reserve water. The reserve water is pre-mixed right?
Anybody has a banded brittle sea star (black)? Did you observe it attacking
other LS. I lost my one inch lobster and I suspected the sea star as I saw it eating its remain in the morning. It could be it is dead already when the sea star approached the lobster.
I am just disapointed as the lobster (dont know what kind) coloring is nice. Its feet are violet and tail is white and there is no claw so may not attack the fish. Anyone has similar lobster? What's your experience with this. Mine was introduced
in the night and dead in the morning.
Are you using extension cord? It may have some kind of fuse/switch that when heat up will cut off and connect again when cool down. You may have equipment drawing high current. I suggest you isolate one by one. connect one equipment to another power source and observe.
I have a 2.5'' diamond goby in my 2.5' tank. I am planning to add another smaller goby (Yashia Haze Goby or clown goby). Will the diamond goby harass the smaller goby? How about adding a smaller blenny instead of the goby? Any suggestion what to add. I want something small that will help clean my live rock.
I did mesurement today, kindly comment. If need dosing to correct something, please advise also:
SG - 1.025
PH - 7.9
ALK -8DKH
MG - 1350
CA - 440
nitrate - 10
Do I need to target a higher ALK and PH?
are you sure it has not molted. My blue molted recently and you can see the skeleton but when I check the shell, the hermit is still there. This happened to my red leg hermit and cleaner shrimp. What I observed is that when the hermit/shrimp stay in one place and no activity, it is in the process of molting.
I saw that the recommended values of alkalinity as below:
2.5 - 4 meq/L or 7 - 11 dKH or 125 - 200 ppm CaCO3 equivalents
How to convert one unit to another, i.e, meq/L -> dKH ?
