  1. Been a very successful week... the Skimz Calcium Reactor is working very well... some credits should go to the medias too (ARM and Grotech Magnesium Pro)... I can see my SPS growing more rapidly than before The CR is able to maintain my KH at 9dkH for more than a week already... I can really see the benefit of having a constant KH... previously my KH fluctuates according to my dosing pattern Here's just a small colony... a Blue(ish) Staghorn 19 Jun 07 12 Jul 07 The growth is definitely obvious... do note that the two pix were taken by different camera hence a little difficult to judge the colouration.
  2. Yes it is impressive I must admit... I've known it since the beginning of time
  3. Ok... all done... bought the rocks this morning Will update tonight
  4. Yupe... or perhaps artificial tonga branches
  5. Will start to test water using the complete test kit (comes with the starter kit) once I introduce the rocks
  6. I quickly ran the Mini Arctica (without water)... and it's really quiet... as expected actually
  7. Yeah I will do that So smart Here's the Mini Arctica 1/15 hp (on loan)... it's so tiny standing next to my Ikea stool
  8. As a result I got water spray all over the hood... luckily the lighting area is sealed tight Or else... power trip for sure So those who bought or thinking of getting the RSM... remember to discard the white sponge
  9. What happen was... the water level at the back compartment fell by a few centimetres... all becoz of a clogged sponge That sponge (provided by Red Sea) is still quite clean I discarded that useless piece of sponge right away The blackness you see is mainly from the activated carbon (provided by Red Sea)
  10. When I went into my office this morning... this is what I discovered!!! Totally shocked by it
  11. Thanks bro... but to be a successful tank... it must be beyond looking good... seems like I am slowly discovering its limitations... read next posting
  12. Still considering bro... probably going for artificial rocks too
  13. Just picked a nice piece... but the stench was so unbearable after a couple of hours (probably due to the high temperature and high flow area)... I removed it from the tank
  14. Futher update... my signature... MARKET PRAWN Since I am not using live sand this time round... a bit of rotting meat will help fuel the bacteria colonization process
  15. Well... after detecting 33ºC (in other words the amount of heat the pumps generate)... I will probably go for a larger chiller... good news though Just happen that there's a piece of used Mini Arctica 1/15 lying around at Aquamarine, I brought it back... will give it a try... and let you guys know the result... then I can decide to stick to a 1/15 or upgrade to a 1/10 Perfect plan!
  16. No lah... those stuff are still inside my car
  17. Maybe you look at it upside-down at that time
  18. Another SH video... look at the way they tangle to each other
  19. Yes they do have fan... but I believe that fan is mainly for removing heat from the hood itself (lighting and ballast/s)... as the fan is concealed within the hood itself. Ok will on the lighting (with fan) tomorrow and see if the condition can be improved. Meanwhile, for those reefers thinking of just relying on CPU fan to cool this nano... maybe should consider properly. Will post result tomorrow Here's my Aquatronica data recording... still within the range of 33ºC
  20. Connected the temperature probe today (previously used for my sump as extra)... was shocked by the tank temperature 33ºC Without lighting some more Currently only running 3 pumps (1 skimmer, 2 return)... that's all I believe the total conceal of the top is one of the determining factors
  21. Bro is that Doggy Hammer getting enough light? Seems llke not extending much leh
