  1. Thanks bro... yeah I agree, dosing is not the long term solution... let me find out why I'm facing this problem. Thanks!
  2. Bro How can I increase Magnesium level? I've been using Kent Marine additives (as stated in my signature).
  3. Beware of the carpet... it can crash ur tank... if I were u... check on it every hour, once u notice sign of fatality or bad smell... get it out of the tank!!! Don't worry bout stars... at least they will not rot and crash... CARPET must be treated with highest alert... care share with us ur latest water parameters?
  4. Yes adding a good quality Phytoplankton is gonna be beneficial to every LS in the tank. I am currently using DT and Aquaz. DT is only for special day since it's much more expensive Just pour in a bit will do... I usually do half cup.
  5. Bro I strongly believe u made the right decision keeping ur old tank... ur old tank is one of the most natural looking tank around... the corals look very natural, not like they are placed there deliberately... love it!!! Those overgrown Caulerpas give u any problem? According to some... those green grapes create more problems than benefits.
  6. Bro u have like... 20000 species in your refugium... nice work!
  7. Bro I really need your advice, I was at a LFS yesterday asking for product to help me manage my power & cables. According to the LFS no need to waste money, those white colour extension buy from DIY shop/Best is sufficient, just make sure got surge protector. I was like... Can u help me here, confused... As I've invested a couple of Ks on equipments... can't afford to let them all blow by lightning or accidents... what shall I do?
  8. Oh someone bought my Tunze Wavemaker... Was hoping no one will take it... this hobby is so many ups and downs... just like some soap operas on TV lol
  9. Also the cabinet material makes a difference. If they use Chengai/Chengal wood, cost a few hundred bucks more. So it's price vs durability. For me.... I'll probably go for Chengal... and Starphire... so end up blowing the budget, so rather get a ready-built tank. No hidden costs... u know how we all want the best for our tank
  10. This thread is closing soon... 10% deposit transfer is on its way by a bro. Will announce once I receive payment.
  11. This thread is closing soon... full payment transfer is on its way by a bro. Will announce once I receive payment.

  13. Yes and no... depending on your HOB filter design. I'm using Rowaphos Sponge now, good product but costly. It also releases tiny black carbon, so u might not want them in your main tank. Can u take a pix of your HOB filter compartment? Maybe a simple wool type will do the job fine to remove brownish particles... just my 2 cents... dun follow blindly as I am still very new
  14. Sure there will be some dead spots in your tank. You may wanna consider increase water flow especially at the lower portion of the tank? This little Tunze is really cool! So tiny and quite affordable too. You can hide it inside your rockworks.
  15. Yes they do sell live phyto and zoos in mineral water bottle... but u must be careful as ppl tend to feed more using live food coz they afraid once they die, defeat the purpose of live food (usually cost much more mg per mg). I once bought a pack of Brine Shrimp, just feed my LS a bit, then gotto throw the entire bag into the freezer... so not really worth it for a small tank. You might also wanna consider adding back some basic sponge into your filter... I know the trend now is to go without mechanical filtration, but IMO it's better to remove the dirt before they got a chance to decay/rot just the same concept as a protein skimmer. That's why, I will never do without my Reefpack Comline Filter... that thing removes so much dirt... I can't imagine having all the dirt floating in my tank. Of course, u need to wash/change filter every 3 to 4 days as part of the husbandry... which reminds me... I need to change mine today
  16. Your tank is looking really amazing!!! With the new colours... Love it!!! Em... filling more LR on the left? Sure about it? Coz I always think your rockscape is quite unique... oh u do need another MH to fill up the left side.
  17. for your interests... decided not to sell this item as the new chiller costs me almost $2000!!! Selling this 1 month old Teco can barely help me get the new one... so I'll stay with it for a while longer. This thread is officially closed.
  18. I can see why... easily 4 digit investment there... I also wanna create a Clam Haven for my new tank... inspired by yours of course
  19. Oh dear... spending so much time in Pasar Malam section this morning... stressful! I hope I am portraying a bad image by ripping my old tank apart like some corporate liquidation exercise Just want to pass on some unused items to other reefers that can make good use of them... my cabinet is full of stuff now... perhaps u guys wanna help me clear some
