  1. Cool bro... that's all I need to hear... I will go to ur thread and take a close look at ur fixture... guess no complaints from u?
  2. Sorry guys... Aqua Medic costs 50% MORE than Tropic Marine... typo
  3. Lvl 1140 today... that is after kalk... r they related?
  4. Err... long story actually... shouldn't say it publicly as I will be going against 90% of the bros here... hehe. Will PM you shortly But pls don't "quote" me, lol.
  5. The reef pack will not take up too much space, I am planning to use lesser LR overall btw. Always believe in "power" filtration + skimming. So will not just go with either or... I think the combination of AM and Tunze will give me great results. Oh, although this is a 3ft tank, I will still bring along the nano tank concept. So I will not introduct large fishies, large colony of corals, etc. unless the outgrow the tank in years to come...
  6. Anyone have any experience with Plenum? I heard it's good for the sand bed... but not sure what it is all about
  7. I notice u removed the right compartment (of the tank). U need more room? Was it hard to remove?
  8. Em... it says aluminium body, I will go down to LFS to check later anyway... thks bro for sharing ur horrible experience. Will keep that in mind. Can share with us Aqualight? I can still look around for a couple of days.
  9. You guys always say I'm RICH... despite all the $$$ dumped in, I am just sacrificing other aspects of my life to fully indulge in this wonderful new found hobby of mine... Picture perfect! Aqua Medic Anthias swimming towards my lunch... instant noodles... sacrifice? Not at all... anything for my little fishies p.s. the noodle is quite good btw... lol
  10. No wonder u can have so much corals and they still look healthy in your tank... hehe... nice AM flotor filter + skimmer u got there... can easily rival my Reefpack 500 (if not better).
  11. Just want to let u guys know... despite all the excitement of a new tank... I am still taking very good care of my NC, definitely no sign of negligence... I'm not that cruel... old or new, still my LS...
  12. Hehe I wouldn't go BB too... kinda feel something is missing... despite the benefits, lol. If you have sand protecting against falling LR, why another layer of acrylic? That will be 1g less water for your tank, lol.
  13. 2 more days to be exact... and I haven't got a solid plan on how to move things around... any bro with experience? Can PM me? I want to create a plan to minimize impact for my LS.
  14. Bro Collin (aka Crazy Horse) First of all, I think most credit should go to the Tunze Calcium Dispenser which has been constantly (at least twice a day) dosing Calcium Hydroxide (aka Kalk/Limewater) into my tank together with water top-up system. So calcium lvl is constantly above 420 mark. On top of that, I dose the following 1/4 cup every 3 days: 1. Kent Marine (KM) Essential Elements 2. KM Strontium & Molybdenum 3. KM Liquid Calcium 4. KM Pro Buffer dKH 5. KM Iodine Bought the whole set as a beginner set (4 oz. small bottles) from reefdepot.com.sg Thinking of using better product once my new tank matures. Of course, good skimmer, filtration, very water movement and strong 10 hr MH lighting (7.5W/gal) Water parameters optimum. So I believe it's a combination of lots of factors... so I am very stressful now, scared not being able to achieve the same result once I move to a larger tank next week... what if the whole thing crash?!? Oh not forgetting... I bought matured cured rock with large amount of coralline from a kind bro... so not starting from dead rocks, lol...
  15. Wow!!! That's even more a rare occurance... I love it! Will get a pair of Maroon for my new tank also. Thanks bro for the inspiration
  16. Hehe actually wanted to get a larger tank all along... but someone at home not supportive... but after seeing my NC, I got the "green light"... so must move fast lah! Oh... sometimes... being a bachelor is not too bad an idea... but must be staying alone lah, or else worst... got two parents nagging
  17. Bought a Aqua Medic Percula 90 tank with back comparments (like my current NC, lol). I followed ur advice and get a Wavebox... haven't try yet, tank will arrive coming Tuesday.
  18. Here's a preview of how I want my Equipments to be in... this is version 1.1 of course... so expecting changes along the way. Basically, already bought all the equipments except for lighting. Comments welcome... PM is fine too
  19. Here's a blow-up 3D view of the back compartments.
  20. With a 7' tank? I bet your LS will be so spoilt... and I'm amazed by the size of your sump and equipments... oh that air con compressor, lol. Maybe the 2 large discs are reflecting too much of light (esp on the pics)... does it happen viewing it in the tank? They cast quite large shadows too. What r those actually?
  21. I think it's ok, but make sure it's laid entirely flat and maybe a bit of sealant to avoid stuff sipping in later... what's ur concern actually? u going BB?
  22. Bro! That "one for one" pix can send in for competition... it's so lovely!!! Take more shots of them like that... it's a rare occasion!!! Congratz
  23. Err... hard to express my feelings...
  24. I heard u need to apply for approval for tanks larger than 4"... but hey a lot of bros' tanks larger than that and a lot of them... u know lah! U can also consider PVC tubes for stacking LR. I also thinking of that coz too much LR also can be overkill and less large caves area. Since my new tank doesn't rely on LR too much for filtration. Will let u know if I can come up with something... err... genius? lol
  25. If u guys ever wonder... why Percula 90? Well, here's the answer... a highly efficient BERLIN filtration system hidden behind the tank. No fussy sump tank, no leakages, no 2 to 3 tanks to maintain (as I always consider sump and refugium as tanks that require maintenance also). Compact and efficient in design and execution Truly German style...
