  1. Hehe bro... although I only been in SRC for 2 months... all the bros here already know me so "damn" well!!! Hehe... ok this time I will practice yoga... or just imagine that the tank is not there Yeah... tonight's gonna be "Brokeback Mountain"... err... hopefully I will not end up with 2 mountains... "Twin Peaks"... but again having a large plain filled with macroalgaes is gonna recreate "Jurassic Park"... perhaps leaving rooms for fake plants and pirates ships like "Finding Nemo"... and for sure include a few "Predator" and "Aliens" into the tank for amusement sake... but most importantly must be very very patient so that Perc90 will not end up being a "Terminator"... self destructing to create "Armageddon".
  2. Ok the tank is ready for the new LR... will collect at 4pm later. Did some research and according to Liveaquaria.com... it's good to do the following to remove unwanted pests... "Before (or after) curing your newly arrived live rock, you can submerse the new rock into a bucket filled with saltwater with a specific gravity of 1.035 to 1.040 for one minute. Any invertebrates including: mantis shrimp, bristle worms, and crabs, will quickly evacuate from the rock into the bucket of water. Bristle worms still attached to the rock can be removed with a pair of needle-nosed pliers or tweezers. After removing the live rock from the bucket, you can then sort through the invertebrates in the bucket that you will want to add to your system, and discard all of the unwanted pests". http://www.liveaquaria.com/general/general...eral_pagesid=59 If the above method works... I will have a bucket full of inverts to choose from tonight... perhaps u guys can help... will post lots of pix tonight. I will do the same too for my Nano LR as I suspect something nasty is in there... can any experienced brother confirm if the 1-minute high SG deep will also kill my beneficial bacterias and corallines in my Nano LR?
  3. No one can outpace bro Hammy when it comes to Zoos... lol
  4. Hehe... another gadget to be added into my shopping list
  5. To see if the glass is too green... as the conventional glass (for buildlings) comes with a green tint. One on top of glass, one below the glass. Then u can compare how green the glass is... but must have sufficient lighting on top lah! But again... the green might not bother you at all...
  6. $200 is very cheap! Some bro will advice u to go for 12mm instead. My Percula 90 tank is 8mm tempered glass. Check the clarity of the glass first bro... ask them for a sample... if looks too green, then think twice. Put a piece of blank photocopy paper behind it and one in front, then tell the difference (in proper lighting).
  7. Reasonable priced... uppz for u bro
  8. Nice nice nice!!! So fun... $100 for 5 pieces (including a rare species)... is definitely good deal Can't wait to see a cleaned up tank... post again shortly ok? Show off your rare piece of Prata... current pix too blue to see the details.
  9. Thanks so much for all ur advice... yes I have to agree that I am not the "patient" type... can't go holiday lah... I know what... I will spend every single cent on equipments... then I will have no more money for LS since most of them do not accept AMEX... lol. Then "kena" force to wait till May loh Em... sounds like a plan! Really appreciate all the help here... I guess that's what blogs are for... do help remind me of things along the way ok? But not too much "nagging" lah
  10. Wah bro... u really Zoo King!!! lol
  11. To be frank with u, I haven't reach that stage yet... but I heard they are for different purpose... heard Ozone is more useful, UV is just to kill some bacterias and reduce the chances ur fish will get sickness... correct me if I'm wrong.
  12. Ok I will power up my skimmer once I'm done with Ammonia... tomorrow gonna be a big day for me... major scaping
  13. Personally I think the AM Bioflotor will be able to handle the load... will the reduction in water flow coz any dead spots?
  14. Bro Jon, I have barely started... once I collect my LR from a reefer tomorrow, I will officially start the cycle with 20+kg more LR. Now just doing some preparation work... yes I will try to slow down a little
  15. Thanks for the straight-forward "no-no"... I will carve that in my brain... so the next time I see an angel... I will look away... lol.
  16. Thanks bro... I will see replace the Aquablue T5 with Actinic if needed... hehe my Tunze Wavebox is at the right corner too, towards the back just like you
  17. Read from another thread that this is a good Nitrifying Bacteria product. I will spend some time tonight figuring out how exactly I want to install all my equipments... kinda messy at the moment
  18. Wow... 2 FR... what pump are u using? Around how many L/h? I guess the LFS is just trying to sell me a super huge and expensive pump Luckily I haven't decided what pump to go for...
  19. Hi u r using the Aqua Medic Phosphatfilter? I have difficulty opening the container... sealed really tight and there isn't a manual showing how to do maintenance... that's the only thing about German products... they expect everyone to be as technical as the Germans, lol.
  20. Thanks bro for sharing with me ur method of reefing and the high-bioload method seems very interesting... u get best of both world!!! Brilliant!!! But must have a very 'garang' skimmer that is... I will start doing my rockscaping this weekend... will definitely draw some inspirations from your tank. I'm still new, so will not be able to go SPS fully... maybe a few frags once the condition matures. For my 3ft tank, do you think 2x150W BLV 14000ºK + 2x39W T5 sufficient for SPS?
  21. Guys I can't find my Sunburst... I'm afraid...
  22. Welcome to Singapore!!! Very nice tank and nice photography skills too How long have u been keeping marine fish tanks? Is this your first?
  23. Thanks bro Colin... em... yeah I can transfer all 20g of old water into my new tank (20 to 25% of total volume)...will do that for sure
  24. True... I guess I am too stressed up by all the sold equipments... expect the owner to collect them next weekend... so must Perc90 must be ready by then... and running 2 tanks is not fun at all!!! lol Relax... Ok what I'll do is, to let things rot naturally... will introduce more LR (from a bro) this coming Saturday. Will do major rockscaping this weekend. Then let the cycle run... and run... and run... and hopefully ANN will be settled and stabilized by next weekend for the transfer of LS. Will keep you guys updated with my water parameters so that exp bros out there can help guide me along the way...
