  1. Try buy vegetable from market, local lettuce or pok choy... clip it on the glass... try your luck lor... coz they are expensive specimens... my Chevron eats everything
  2. Not nice lah... already engaged my tank maker... unless in the end... they really cannot give me what I want... then I will get contact from you lor
  3. True... actually most colours blend in quite well except the RED and the BLACK
  4. Need you guys to vote also... Background colour that best simulates Shallow Reef... as I will have valleys and so on... the backdrop will be quite exposed for at least the first few months (before coralline covers the glass panel) Dark Blue Light Blue White White (see thru to wall colour) Black
  5. After discussing with bro Lyz77, I've decided not to jeopardize the funding of entire project by getting a Red Dragon pump... I will be using back my existing Aquabee 3000 as I do not require too much water flowing into my sump anyway... However, say after headloss left 2500l/h... do you think 5 times the tank volume an hour circulation is decent enough? I will have lots of current in the main tank anyway (2 x 6000 + 6060)... if I go for higher capacity return pump... the overflow box will create a lot of noise... and it can be irritating during office hour... the tank is less than 3 feet away from my seat What you guys think? Bro Acidjazz, since you are such an expert in JBJ Arctica, the new placement for the Arctica is around 1.5m away from the tank, the piping will run horizontally mostly (so minimal headloss). What is the best pump rating you reckon? Most probably will get Aquabee... cos that's the best pump I can afford
  6. Don't worry... as long as you don't itchy hand go and buy some Nemos... increase flow in your tank... you may even wanna throw in any extra powerhead just to stir things a little... and get ready for the stench
  7. Wah very exciting!!! Please show us more... I want it... I want it now!!!
  8. I was told a rough indication only lar... not official figure lah...
  9. I might... but if it is gonna cost me then I will just go with normal float glass... this is just a tank for my office... don't think I should spend too much on it... perhaps start saving for my next MEGA project... surely SPS
  10. I know about the splashes lah... seen it in your tank... that's why I am allowing 4" allowance... anyway I just received an indication from my tank maker that with my configuration (using 12mm glass)... I might not be able to achieve full braceless anyway So back to the drawing board... haiz... Do you guys think this tank will look ugly with bracing? I mean topless but with braces... got a feeling is will look
  11. Bro Zorden... this is my source of inspiration Royal Exclusive Tank Construction Division
  12. Nah I am not into that Deltec tank... I've considered it before... couple of months back... was definitely taken aback by the hefty sum... but I don't think all the equipments inside are as good lor... if you are impressed by Deltec... you should check out Royal Exclusive custom tank... Deltec no fight
  13. Just got a sms from my tank maker... advisable to have bracing... so sad... will try to relook at the design... see it there's a way to do without... I am also avoiding using thicker glass such as 15mm
  14. No water change... not now... let it cycle... they don't call it ANN (A for Ammonia) for nothing
  15. Sorry bro... didn't know your tank is only 1.5ft depth... well probably too strong unless you only use it at left-right alternate (one off one on) at 30%. Even then... you will find the current strong... face is diagonally from the back to the center of the front glass.
  16. Seems like there are 2 main favourites... come on guys... please help me decide
  17. Oh yes... a top-up system is definitely a good investment... you can use it for your future tank also. I think some bro selling... check out Tunze also as I find it very reliable. All the best bro... once you settle the water evaporation issue... basically everything else is not major... perhaps a timer feeder. But don't overfeed. Also try out 3 weeks of skimming without pouring away skimmate, most skimmers cannot last that long. Than you need to experiment with dry skimming for 3 weeks and see how... once your cup overflows... gone! Maybe try also put your skimmer on timer, so maybe on 12 hours a day... just to avoid overflowing the cup.
  18. I heard before but didn't expect a 4500l/h to be so expensive... kinda shock by it actually
  19. Hi guys I'm looking for a return pump for my 4 footer and stumble across a high-end pump that delivers 4500l/h with a huge price tag of $1000 Can I get some feedback from RD owners and potential RD owners? Why you guys think this pump is worth the $1000 and why it should costs more than 3 times an Eheim? or an Aquabee Thanks in advance
  20. Huh... I thought you actually bought a Black Tang!?!... but that specimen a bit skinny though
  21. Wah Porsche Silver also quite popular... Maybe I can get a laminate that matches the ATI Powermodul... I shall call it ATI Silver
  22. Bro... not to discourage you hor... please don't take it that way... I think the Marine Equipment section is ideal for this purpose... that's what that section is for Prob boss can help move it over to that section
  23. 6100 will not be too strong if you have Multicontroller 7095
  24. Amazing scaping but a word of caution bro... if your rocks are not attached together with epoxy or something... they may just collapse and crack your glass... it happens... so be caraeful
