  1. Really? I know that ATI is in the midst of changing to a more energy efficient pump... the 1260 (49W) info was taken from 2 German sources (1 being ATI website). Let me drop by AM and check my piece. From what I heard, ATI already stopped producing BM 250 with airflow meter. My BM 250 doesn't come with the airflow meter. Yes... that's after +/- 10% discount (I took price from their website). So, if you are to get both ATI and BK from German site, you will get 16% VAT rebate too Prices were provided as a guide only.
  2. Actually the Deltec AP600 is quite appropriate for you tank... but if you plan to upgrade your tank later, you may wanna consider getting a larger model. What I like about the AP600 is the very low energy consumption, 20W. Not too sure about Schuran though... I think you'll better off getting a Deltec (higher resale value and demand too).
  3. Wah you so hardcore... daily scraping?
  4. Ok bro... as you wish... but please bear in mind some manufacturers may over-rate their skimmer... however, it should be quite minimal in this instance since all 3 are well-established German brands in the industry. We shall compare ATI Bubble Master 250, BK-250 and Deltec AP902 (AP851 is way too low in capacity)... going in alphabetical order ATI Bubble Master 250 • For up to 3000L • Single Eheim 1260 producing 2000L of air per hour • Power consumption 49W • Price Euro 480 Bubble King 250 • For 800L to 2000L • Single Red Dragon producing 1500L of air per hour • Power consumption 45W • Price Euro 1600 Deltec AP902 • For 1800L to 2500L • Duo Eheim producing 1200L of air per hour • Power consumption 130W • Price SGD 2790 If I am to build a dream skimmer... it will be... • Single Eheim 1260 producing 2000L of air per hour (ATI Bubble Master 250) • Power consumption 45W (Bubble King 250) • Price Euro 480 (ATI Bubble Master 250) Well that's just me
  5. Oh you are using the Aragamilk Powder... cool Can't wait to see purple coralline all over the tank... including glass surface
  6. No lah... that Mini is very useful sometimes... especially for mixing salt
  7. Maybe can put them in the Refugium
  8. If you can allocate $25, try Caribsea AragaMilk. It's damn good and easy to use (with no danger of overdosing). Check out product review started by bro Altantis or drop by Reefdepot. Perfect for smaller tank setup as it replenishes your tank with various minerals and essentials everytime you dose Yes, Actinic helps too
  9. I don't think I need to wait till I retire coz I will be in some exotic place by then... how about 3 years from now? But got a feeling will close down within 1 year... hahaha
  10. Haha... realistically, I don't think there will be any Singaporea willing to allocate $20K to do the test... Reefcentral perhaps So while waiting for "that" Singaporean to emerge, what we can do is talk sensibly based on our best knowledge and specs available. Bro Acidjazz, I don't think ATI Bubble Master is in the same league as BK-650 and Deltec 1004. ATI Bubble Master was designed for a much smaller capacity at 1/10 the cost of the BK-650. Since you highlighted the 2 models, perhaps a look at their power consumption will make the comparison more meaningful (bearing in mind they may not be rated under the same tank capacity). BK-650: 58W x 2 = 116W = $17.50/month Deltec 1004: 65W x 4 = 260W = $39.30/month ATI Bubble Master: 80W = $12.00/month Must agree with bro Acidjazz that BK is the clear winner when it comes to energy efficiency ... and running the Deltec 1004 will consume $471.60/year or a shocking 2,277,600W per year
  11. Bro Acontia Really like what you've done so far... I will be getting my setup ready within 2 to 3 weeks time, by then the ATI Bubble Master running on Eheim 1262 should already started foaming. Do drop by my office so that we can study it further
  12. Very nice moonlight... evenly distributed Do you on the moonlight whenever the tank lights are off?
  13. Ok lah... but remember intense skimming can only reduce the amount of new NO3, those existing ones will remain in the water (to be breaked down by others)... by not adding more NO3 is a good step already
  14. Who is carrying this brand? Perhaps the LFS should educate the reefers
  15. Haha... we are a bunch of very lonely guys... if not this hobby... we probably chatting online looking for Oh here's what really excites me today
  16. See... I help you save some money again... while my piece is lying inside my store room
  17. Haha... it takes a bit of training to be able to say this lah... "Money not a problem, just give me the best service in town" That's why not a lot of LFS can "tahan" me... end up buying from only 1 shop
  18. Oh ok... this unit is on loan... must return (in 1 piece )
  19. Just remember, you will definitely need to remove it to clean often
  20. Nah... it's ok, I will start a new thread once the tank is delivered. So continue to discuss anything... under to moon and stars. Thanks for offering, I might not need the dead rock, decided to only used cured LR. Will use one of AM's tank to cure my LR for 2 weeks... with intense protein skimming and intense phosphate remover... haha I can be a very demanding customer hor
  21. Yes that's a good idea... make sure it's easily accessible for cleaning... the plastic cover (with louvres) for intake can clog quite easily. Expect to clean it every forthnightly.
  22. I'm sure this looks very familiar to you guys... just wanna try out the LEDs
  23. Mini Tunze to hide behind the rockscaping? Sweet
