  1. Yes... activated carbon will do the trick just fine
  2. Yes I agree to that... your overflow box must allow the huge amount of water turnover you may want to introduce to the system... in the end of the day... the 2 must compliment each other... or else... disaster is inevitable
  3. For a 4 footer, a water turnover of 5000 litres is desirable. I wouldn't rely solely on return pump for water circulation as it is quite impossible to achieve that. Having wavemakers will help solve your problem. When it comes to wavemakers, Tunze is still the best... Seio is a value for money alternative. But before you rush out and get yourself some powerful Tunze Streams, make sure you sand bed is not too fine... controllable Streams such as 6100 will come handy as you can adjust the intensity accordingly. On the side note... stirring your sand bed manually may not be a good thing as you will release large amount of toxic into the tank water. Try not to do that... let your starfishes, dollar sands, snails, hermits, sea cukes & etc. do the job instead.
  4. Bro, i REALLY hope it work out fine.. haha... That is why i had not buy any lights, skimmer, etc....
  5. Nope... I will try my best not to have any nutritious algae in my new tank... so that will determine my LS... let's hope I can achieve a low-nutrient system FYI, I will not transfer any fishes from the old tank to the new
  6. Haha... I just used it to fill up my 4 footer last Friday... damn easy to use, just let is fill up slowly, don't rush the flow... the slower it goes... the better in terms of filtration... use the TDS meter that comes with the DI Unit to determine the purity of the filtered water Very exciting times ahead... the refugium is really a very neat idea
  7. You will be surprised... pellets... mainly pellets... Formula One & Two and Dr. Bassleer's ###### Sometimes Arcti-Pods... and also... constant supply of delicious and nutritious algae to graze on The YT been with me for mroe than 4 months now... I remember it being super skinny when i first bought it from PR... very skinny
  8. Bro Izumo... I personally don't think putting the chiller in the cabinet is a wise idea... yes I do agree with you the air emitted by the Arctica is way too hot (I need to use a fan to disperse the heat). Perhaps you want to consider having it outside your cabinet... at least by doing so, you can close your cabinet doors
  9. BRo Nakazoru... not a good solution... do something about it... this week!!!
  10. Hey guys... give me a break!!! You don't expect me to update everyday do you? Ok... tomorrow... lots of updates
  11. Hey Marcus... later other reefers thought we are flaming each other DPM I am, UGLY I am not sure, SELFISH... well I do not own a LFS to Sell Fish
  12. Bro Nakazoru... let's talk about your nice nice Prata... Come on guys... focus on the Prata lah... forget about the chiller
  13. Really? I thought bro Naka claimed the chiller is virtually no noise at all... but it looks kinda bulky though
  14. Wow... your Zoas surely create FIRE in HELL!!!
  15. Guys... some of the offers are a little too low... and NO... I will NOT sell my AquaMedic Denitrator NR1000 with SP3000 for $150.00
  16. Guys... just to update... I've ordered a new ATI Powermodul for my new tank... 10 tubes x 54W (4ft) dimmable... will get it installed within a week... will update you guys further on that... Curious how BRIGHT can 10 x 54W ATI tubes be... must be blindingly bright Will test the Powermodul with some SPS next
  17. Yes... for the 10m3 model, above $1k for sure. To be frank with you guys (after seeing my 6.5m3 running yesterday)... the only MERIT RD offers is low power consumption... it is still NOT the perfect pump as it tends to compromise on performance and power.
  18. That will be under TCC... r u a member of TCC bro Soul?
  19. Haha... bro Creative Reefer... it will be so much easier to sell if I bought them at a good price... unfortunately I was not one of the "smarter" reefers when I first started... Come to think of it... I do look like a "carrot" then And it still bloody haunt me p/s: I know some reefers buy/sell for a living... unfortunately I am not as gifted and well connected as they are And my design company churns out enough cash to fund my hobby
  20. Bro Nakazoru... you truly needs to do something about it...
  21. Both bros... I truly think you guys are being too emotional over such a small matter... and it is not polite to dilute a reefer's tank thread in such manner... as you can see... in a debate like this... there is no right and wrong... both of you will end up the winner... the only victim here is the owner of the thread and those who have to spend their precious time going through it. Perhaps you guys would like to continue your debate via PM... as it has become too emotional and personal Sam999, do not apologize for what you believe in... but there are many other more appropriate ways to make yourself heard Reef on both bros... and don't give up reef sharing over such small matter
  22. Haha... I rather go to hell than have to choose between reefing and sleeping on floor mat for the rest of my life
  23. SELFISH UGLY REEFER + DPM can't help you sleep... sorry
