This is my second marine tank feature and I am very very excited to be able to share with you a complete coverage of all aspects in setting up this new 90g Aqua Medic (Made in Germany) tank... "German made got difference meh?" you might ask? Well... I do hope so since I paid quite a substantial amount for the setup. I guess only time can tell... I think the Aqua Medic Percula 90 will be a very interesting and beneficial case study as the design of the tank is somehow going against the convention nowadays... you will soon to find out... Success? Failure? Definitely too early to tell as a successful tank design and setup cannot be judged so easily... it's a combination of hundreds of elements... and usually take a very very long time... MY BELIEF: I strongly agree to "Big got big play, small got small play". So I am not trying to set any standard here by pursuading you guys to go for the most expensive equipments you can put your hands on... in this hobby $$$ indeed plays a part, but the DEDICATION and PASSION outweighs that... Love your tank and it will repay you with an everlasting beauty that nothing else in life can match!!!

Hehe Wrang... now u steal some limelight from my Percula 90... Well, yours is so far ahead of me anyway... I really like your Monti... like a cabbage on top of the tank. How long has it been with you? Do you have any pix to record the growth in your tank? Can't beat your 2 x 250W MH... I think I will have to upgrade to a much larger chiller if I am to do that here in Singapore... I guess I'll just have to settle with 2 x 150W for the time being. Oh I CANT WAIT!!! 2 more days to delivery... I think I should start a new thread now already...

Guys... thanks all for the wonderfully expensive recommendations for lighting... those lightings easily costs $2500 for a 3ft MH and they might not be that easily found here. And to be frank with u guys... I'm running out of budget already, so can't really afford another $2500 for lighting. However, I came across a SOLITE fixture that really suits me. I know it's Taiwanese made, blah blah... not very "moi" but hey it's only slightly more than $500 for 3ft. Here's what I think about this lamp: 1. Offers me 2 x 150W MH so I can have an evenly distributed lighting. 2. Comes with 2 T5 atinic blue 39W 3. Fans on top of fixture (cool!) 4. MH and T5 individually controlled 5. Comes with stand... great... that's what I'm looking for right now... no drilling 6. BLACK!!! The Aqua Medic only comes with Silver... no stock some more :-( 7. Available... 24/7 I've used SOLITE for mroe than a month... and I can't really tell the difference... perhaps the bulb quality which I can upgrade later, once I introduce SPS or something... What u guys think?... I can always sell it 3 months later if I decide to go for a $2500 fixture

I have yet to find a suitable lighting... the Aqua Medic ones are too low wattage, single 150W plus 2 x 2ft T5 is way too underpower for a 3ft tank and it costs a bomb too... u guys have any suggestions?
