  1. Hey bro, u got a H&S... and I don't think it's a poor man's equipment for sure... I always believe in the best equipment I can afford... as the saying goes "if wanna do, do it properly". I must try my very best to avoid crisis in this hobby... or else will give up for sure... so I hope with good equipments + good husbandry + passion = good results
  2. Hehe I am now running the Turboflotor... water quality is almost at optimum level
  3. Hi bro, it's good to see another Aqua Medic fan... I am new to Aqua Medic, so would like your advice on the Nitratreductor 400. My tank is a AM Percula 90 (90g max, without sump). Thanks in advance I might also get the computer systems... but more like long term plan.
  4. Very crucial parameters: Temperature Sg (aka salt water content) pH KH (Hardness) Ammonia Nitrites Nitrates The next stage: Phosphates Calcium Magnesium etc... A set of Salifert test kits can easily costs you $250.00. Some other brands cheaper but less reliable (according to some). So it's up to you... but yes, you must know ur water condition before you start adding lifestock... or else you will spend much more replacing your lifestock all the time.
  5. Sorry no tang and angel for your tank size... lol. U see those tiny BT at LFS... they are extremely hard to keep coz they are still too young... I heard. I bought a small BT too for my 24g, feels quite tight... not much room for it to swim... think properly ok? Not cheap also.
  6. Aiya it's just a figure of speech... but if u are to walk into a fine dining restaurant, $50 is more like service charge + GST + Cess... really... but I still prefer my instant noodles anytime
  7. Oh so sad to hear that... where are all ur LS?
  8. I am not that clever... so can't guess... how about a full tank shot bro? It's kinda hard to tell without a full picture.
  9. Oh yeah... can't even buy a proper dinner with $50... so what the heck, Florida first then instant noodles, lol.
  10. Kill Kill Kill Since u know where it's hiding... easy to catch. Get one of those cockroach trap, put some food inside... the crab will crawl in just like a croach, lol. I worry for your Yellow Clown Goby coz they are about bite-size for that crab
  11. What's the material u r using to wrap the tank? Is it some soft fabric material??? Real nice and original... I feel like hugging ur tank right now Very smart choice of material... it's washable and of course... act as sound absorbing material... genius!!!
  12. Thanks bro for the detailed explaination... really appreciate it... now I better start counting my total watt. Can update us with full tank pix?
  13. Nice looking specimen... sure it will open very soon...
  14. Such as waste... referring to the Zoos of course... u have a very nice colony there... I think u need to find a way already
  15. Yours is a Yellow Goby, some called it Lemon Goby... http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_di...pcatid=1441&N=0 ... u really have a taste for gobies... remember to always keep ur lid closed as gobies are good jumpers...
  16. Yeah u can read more here: http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_di...?pcatid=181&N=0
  17. I got a feeling Ricordea Floridas are extremely exp, lol. Well... that's part of the challenge right? lol... can post full tank pix bro?
  18. Err... I hope ur a sis instead of a bro... lol
  19. I love SRC... we are all super helpful... ready with pix some more, lol!!!
  20. The only thing I don't like... as mentioned last month... is the white oval shape sticker on the MH clamp, hehe. Even the bushy Blue Gorgonia cannot cover it fully... hehe bro hope u don't mind.
  21. Thanks bro, I am using an amateur Sony DSC-N1... the one with a large touch-screen LCD. Since I am decomissioning my Nano soon... I hope this thread will act as a reminder to me what a wonderful 2 months the Nano has given me... and also help new members look for their next LS for their new tanks. More to come for sure...
  22. Bro Hammy... I know, a bit "langgar"... will do another major round once my Nano LR is ready to be transferred over... right now, just let it settle first. No epoxy... I hope no need to... coz very hard to do rescaping next time. Yeah... I am picky too... so will do a better one next week.
  23. Personally I think both LR and Biohome does the same thing... to provide housing for bacterias... but if ur compartment is small, then u will have a lot of wasted space coz it's impossible to find LR that fits like a jigsaw puzzle. But Biohome can fill up the entire compartment without space wastage, so u can end up having more HDB blocks instead of some landed houses. As for Purigen and Rowa, better check with other bros coz I have no experience with the products.
  24. Housing without outlet and suction cup: 44 x 43 x 42 mm (4.0 x 3.5 x 2.95 in.). Outlet pipe: L 16 mm (.62 in.), diam. 13/10.5 mm (.51/.41 in.) Perfect for a 12g NC.
  25. As suggested by bro Colin earlier... if u do not intend to spend so much money, then some small pieces of live rocks can also do the job. I reckon 1 pack of Biohome is sufficient for ur 2nd compartment, so $37... ka ching. But if u intend to put stocking bags on top of live rocks... then be careful as the bags tend to get torn off by the sharp edges... then u will have lots of cleaning up to do If budget is a concern, just get normal Activated Carbon for marine aquarium. Since u need to change them quite regularly... ka ching... ka ching... ka ching... I will also invest in a in-tank termometer. Here's what I've been using... cost me $10 by JBJ, bought it from PR. It's scary not to know the exact temperature of your water as it is one of the most important parameters in fish keeping.
