  1. Yeah bro... and is that a DonKey helmet u wearing there? lol Seriously, are u gonna change ur avatar soon?
  2. Must for having such great results with simple equipments... you must be really good with your husbandry skills. Using RO/DI water or NSW? Everybody is crazy about Zoos lately!!! lol I wanna get some Zoos too!!!
  3. Emm... perhaps I was told wrongly about Croceas being the most demanding when it comes to light... well, that's good to hear coz I have 2 Croceas on my sand bed
  4. No wonder... I was so shocked to see my pix on WTS!!! lol Good luck to you. Guys, this skimmer is quite powerful... for that kinda price, u can barely get a decent China skimmer (with matching pump).
  5. Guys a bro offer me a very good price. If I do not receive your PM by 12 April 06, 10pm. The unit will go to bro D _ _ k _ _ _ y _
  6. Tunze Wavebox 6212 Hi guys I am letting go my 1-week old Tunze Wavebox 6212. This is a very cool piece of German Technology that works well... From Tunze: TUNZE® Wavebox 6212 is a wave generator for aquariums from 200 to 1,200 litres (52 to 317 US gal.). It is especially suitable for reef biotopes as it generates an oscillating current. The current corresponds exactly to the wave structure and water movement in reef top zones. The Wavebox applies this oscillating principle through Wave Controller 6091, which uses the intrinsic resonance of the tank. A very low power consumption generates ideal water movement. The water is in movement in all areas of the aquarium, even the smallest section behind a decoration benefits from the wash. To learn more, visit http://www.tunze.com/149.html?&L=1&C=SG&user_tunzeprod_pi1[predid]=-infoxunter016 Bought it from Reefdepot (with 9 months warranty) slightly more than a week ago, receipt as proof. The starting price for this unit $525.00. Interested party, please PM me your best price. Last bid must reach me before 16 April 06 (Sun) 10pm. I will notify the winner with the highest price on the same day at 11.30pm. Full payment via ATM/bank transfer is required immediately to secure your bid. If no payment is received within 36 hours, the unit will go to the second highest bidder... so on... The unit will be thoroughly cleaned and packed back into original packaging. Collection / delivery 7 days upon payment receival.
  7. A medium size Sun Coral cost around $15. Shouldn't pay more than that unless the colony is big or already opened in the LFS tank. Clam... em... not sure ur lighting can support it... do check with other bros... I heard the more common ones, Tridacna Crocea requires the most light... normally T5 or MH. Think twice before getting ok? Coz a decaying clam can crash your tank easily.
  8. Update... Added 250g of Carbolit into my new tank to start clearing up the water. Also added a piece of Polyfilter to remove deritrus coz there are far too many floating particles in the main tank. Here's a closer look at my internal sump: A - Overflow combs, adjusted to allow consistent flow into the sump B - Turboflotor, working at 2000l/h C - The water is then channeled into compartment C from the bottom. Here, the water will filter through a folded piece of Polyfilter covering the entire compartment. After that, the water will have to move through a sock bag filled with 250g of Carbolit. The sock bag is half laid onto compartment D, so that the water will flow on the bag to reach D. D - The water will then evenly distributed on the trickle plate, trickling down 2cm onto the Bactoballs. E - The water then reaches compartment E from the bottom. Here, more Bactoballs are in action... a 1200l/h Sicce circulation pump returns the water back into the main tank via a split outlet with duckbeak. Extra room is filled with rocks collected from a bro's sump tank. Osmolator sensor will be placed here and freshwater will be top-up in this compartment too. F - A dry compartment to allow cables and wires to run down to the cabinet below. Currently stuck with sponge to avoid accidental water droplets entering the cabinet below. G - Individual compartment connected to the main tank via 6 inlet/outlet grates. Will utilize this area as a refugium, keeping large amount of Chaetomorpha and a thick substrate plus LR. Will use small pump for minor circulation. PL light (splash proof) can be hung down from the back to provide evenly distributed lighting throughout the 2ft height. There might still be changes as I may slowly replace the Bactoballs. I still need to move my Sicce 2500l/h pump into either compartment D or G to provide flow to the chiller. Water from chiller will go direct to the tank for better efficiency. Any comments?
  9. Bro Terryz!!! The Hammer u sold me also grow new head!!! Now got 3 in total... didn't really notice it coz it is partly hiding beneath the Frogspawn... So excited!!! My first head.... err... head... lol
  10. Yeah... in fact the center is more white than blue now... is that an indication of poor health? Or prob too much MH? So have u gotten a new tank? Start a new thread under Member's perhaps?
  11. Wow! 21 heads? Can u show us a close up pic of the heads? Do they really grow so easily? I thought it takes very long for them to grow new branches.
  12. Off the pump... so the food will stay in place a little longer... I think target feed is more effective than dosing the entire tank... again depending of what kinda corals u keep, if for Zoos lol... don't bother. Also, not all corals rely heavily on additional food source coz they can generate their own thru photosynthesis. If u on your light for 12 hours... shrooms and zoos can take care of themselves. I only target feed my Blue Sea Fan and Sun Coral. And I don't usually dose the whole tank. When I feed my Sea Fan and Sun, the leftovers will also benefit the others... that's all and my other corals look very healthy
  13. Bro u interested in this Orange Zoos? I think it's ready to frag... anything to trade?
  14. Nah... 24-25ºC is okay for corals... it's just that the hottest might be a big difference... but if ur hottest is 26ºC, then I guess it's ok. You should run ur lights on timer... must on and off at the same time every day, it's more natural that way. Be careful when u dose ur whole tank with coral food coz without a skimmer, it is extremely hard to remove overdosing (unless emergency water change). Just my 2 cents :-)
  15. Wow!!! U have a very nicely stocked tank... u must either change water very regularly or running some superb equipments... care to share your secrets?
  16. Wow... sump for 2 footers... I guess it offers much more room to put all the equipments right? Wah bro Soon, ur chiller kicks in every 20 minutes? Em... sounds like very frequent to me. What's ur total water volume and how much can ur chiller support? Quite major power consumption
  17. Emm... but what good is it keeping this horrid looking crab? It will definitely create problems in the later... unless they are known to be good for something... can enlighten me bro?
  18. 26ºC is great!!! In fact, my tank (with chiller) only set at 27ºC!!! Wow ur aircon very "powderful", lol. But do not get too excited... as highlighted by bro Qxn earlier... the real success comes when you can maintain an acceptable level throughout the day... not fluctuating more than 2ºC. Any changes more than that can simply feels like our room suddenly turn into a sauna... What time u on your light? Coz, to minimize fluctuation, I will on my light at night... I know it sounds odd, but by doing so, u will balance the day and night difference. At night, the light will act like a heater, heating ur water to avoid it dropping too low... say 24ºC or 25ºC in the middle of the night... anyway, tell us ur light timing... then we can work it out
  19. Em... I shall be getting a small "bar" fridge soon... my partner gonna kill me for putting live brine shrimp into the fridge... lol
  20. Nope... hv not done LS shopping for a very long time But next time if I come across any... will surely let u know (after I choose a nice piece that is, lol).
  21. Prob just your batch... but I've been getting the same negative feedbacks from some other bros too... but my readings can be trusted coz I use purely Aqua Medic Reefsalt... tested using salifert and u can trust my colour judgement. Perhaps they improved it with new formulae or something...
  22. Water parameters as of this evening: Sg - 1.022 pH - 8.3 KH - 8.6 Temp - 29ºC Ammonia - <0.25 Nitrites - <0.3 Nitrates - 10 Phosphates - 0.1 Calcium - 480 (haven't add in Aqua Medic Hydrocarbonat) Magnesium - 1230 Magnesium level is not too low... I am using Aqua Medic Reef Salt (box packaging) solely.
  23. Haha... u guys are so so helpful... giving me moral support... since I'm not the only one experiencing the feeling of being "broke", lol. No need $20 a day lah... so pitiful... yeah, I'll probably spend it on a new Sun Coral or something I will slow down a bit for sure as I can't think of much to buy now... except for... blah blah blah Bro Maxstar81, my chiller is Teco RA240... I think barely sufficient, so have to really manage my MH duration properly. May also consider external ventilation. My total volume is around 75g actually, not 90g. The Percula "90" is indicative of its length in cm, lol... the Germans... one kind I will test my Magnesium level tonight
