  1. time for my Xenia... I think he is showing me his "middle finger"
  2. Turn off completely... may get a moonlight later... but right now need to prioritise things first... oh the Aquabee is so so silent... love it
  3. Jewel... white translucent tentacles... lime green (almost neon yellow) skirtings
  4. Actinic T5 x 2 tubes... I do not have moonlight The pix was taken using flash
  5. Did they extend more due to the wavemaker? They do look very very happy
  6. Could it be insufficient water circulation?
  7. GSP loves strong current... put them at the frontline... they will grow so huge... you will panic
  8. Welcome to the club!!! 1) Err... your liverock does not "literally" grow corals... you need to buy them... currently since you are still cycling... essential elements and iodine etc. are not necessary. If you want to see purple coralline (if this is what you meant) than you need higher calcium level and etc. But for the time being, just make sure your water level is right... the purple coralline will come at a later stage. 2) Your lighting is not strong at all... in fact pretty low... so you must choose your corals carefully.. those requiring moderate to strong lighting is not suitable for your tank (just to give you a feel... your total walt is 18W, right? We go by the hundreds... I am currently using 378W for my 3ft tank) 3) You only change water (around 40% to 50%) once you start detecting very high Nitrate... low or almost undetectable Ammonia and Nitrite. 4) Really depends... I reckon another week or so... you can start adding some cleaning crews such as snails, hermits to take care of the blooming algae. Don't get shrimps and star fish as they are very sensitive. 1 week later... perhaps you can add a Nemo already... but must make sure your parameters are at acceptable level. 5) 1.025 is optimum... but expensive to maintain... 1.023 is a good level. Hope this helps p/s: Oh you may want to enlarge you photo a bit... too tiny
  9. The Yellow Polyps still look a bit "blown"...
  10. Changed my circulation pump (from IOS to main tank) from Sicce Multi 1300 to Aquabee 1000... the difference is so so apparent... Aquabee is damn convincing lor... not audible at all... no vibration... no noise caused by rotating blade... 2 thumbs up
  11. Frogspawn/Torch/Hammer collector... damn nice
  12. A true Jewel... one that I've been looking for a while now... saw it in Irwana's show tank Will take a better shot once the tentacles are fully opened
  13. Their tank already neon lor... so this specimen ain't cheap The reason I can afford it is the size (small) and its odd shape
  14. He got a 13ft lah... plus sump
  15. I think this specimen is called Pink Gonio It's really neon pink lor
  16. Wow! Very huge tank!!! I like your fishes
  17. So how's the effect? Nice or not? Too bad pix cannot show current flow
  18. New True Red Gonio... I always thought my old Red Gonio is very RED... till I saw this specimen It turns neon under actinic blue Now I just hope that it will open big-big
  19. I will close this thread pretty soon
  20. Flame for $95?!? Lucky you didn't buy... way way too expensive... if you 2 damsels still not inside your main tank... you may consider giving it away
  21. Ok I will take a FTS tonight... yeah the Xena is quite pretty, haven't started pumping though
  22. What I learned from Seet: Although you can control the intensity of the current via the driver box (using a small screwdriver), don't go all the way to the minium power. You must at least have the arrow facing upwards (50% power). Then use the Multicontroller to control. Shouldn't be hard as the Multicontroller offers so much flexibility, I used it in my Nano las time... so your's shouldn't be a problem at all. Just need a bit of tuning. You can always put the current-loving corals at the center, Yumas and other delicate corals can go to the sides (lower portion). Try Hammers... you will love them
  23. Lowering chiller price... $500 Will not sell any lower than that... rather keep it in my store as a back up. Chiller is made in Italy, less than 3 months old. In perfect working condition and warranty under Reefdepot. Will transfer tax invoice over to the buyer
  24. Tested the Marine Environment salt mix yesterday... using filtered tap water (domestic canister-type water filter) Temp: Room temperature Sg: 1.025 pH: 8.3 KH: 4.9 Calcium: >500 Mg: 1400 Although KH is a low, bringing it up is both cheap and safe... already added Salifert KH Buffer to buff-it-up to at least 10. Will do 10 - 15% water change tonight. Will continue to do 10% water change every 3 days until my Mg level gets closer to the 1300 mark! Generally, very happy with this brand of salt mix as all the parameters (except KH) are of optimum level... love it
