  1. Makes me wanna get a Flame... so so pretty... I also like the petite size a lot
  2. Hahaha... finally reaches the top What can I say... What your son say now ah? "Daddy... why your tank so colourful like a rainbow?" And you wife "Honey... your tank is now more beautiful than me... I jealous"
  3. Bro I think my Ammonia level is quite low already... I can also pass you my Salifert set if you are somewhere in town office hours... I work at Mohamed Sultan Road Coz... I suspect your Ammonia may be the cause of your loses Or you can bring some tank water to my office, we can test there also... then you don't have to worry about returning to me after that

  6. Wow!!! Another ATI fan... this ATI craze is getting a little out of hand And I'm sure you can see the difference... get your sunglasses ready Becareful not to bleach your corals... a bro replaced 3 x 250W MH with 6 x 80W T5 and his SPS "kena" bleach... and he didn't specify what brand... I just read from a thread this afternoon He said he underestimated the power of T5 wor...
  7. Nope... bro Shootsimon... I got a new nickname now... Mr. Bargain Hunter or Mr. Antique Collector coz I also bought a 2-year old piece of Tunze Turbelle Classic 2002 from the kind bro... err... it is indeed a bit antique to me
  8. Hehe... this product has been in the market for a while (if I'm not wrong)... so it's not like a new cool technology... but I just can't resist the bargain lor... the kind bro sold me this brand new unit at a fraction of his purchased price... already checked with Aqua Mart current retail price
  9. Why another piece of TOY you might ask... I know Aquatronica can do the job... but thos Light Computer allows dimmable effect to create sunrise/sunset effect (you know... the recent craze and all). Dimmable?!? Yes... but not for all channels though Only the 3rd channel (aka moonlight channel)... this channel can be connected using any incandescent light bulbs (normal light bulbs, halogen bulbs & etc.)... the 3rd channel will control the intensity of the bulbs (just like our normal wall light dimmer) in various percentage to: 1) Create sunrise/sunset effect - dimming in and dimming out before/after my BLUEs 2) It will run at night to act as a moonlight... in various intensity to mimic the moon cycle (already programmed inside) I'm just curious what this guy can do... I've yet to find any light bulbs + fixture for the 3rd channel... so can't test the 3rd channel right away
  10. Just collected this piece of TOY from a kind bro... very good bargain... brand new Aqua Medic Light computer A three-channel microprocessor controller for around the clock aquarium lighting The Aqua Medic Light Computer is designed to accurately simulate nature's own lighting. It is supplied with three separate programmable channels: 1) Channel One controls the primary lamp (e.g. metal halide, maximum 500 watts). 2) Channel Two controls additional lighting (e.g. blue fluorescent, maximum 300 watts). 3) The third channel, a special feature of the computer, controls an incandescent night lighting circuit to a maximum of 100 watts. The night light's intensity is controlled using an internal programme to simulate the natural lunar cycle of 28 days. The combination of all three channels completely simulates the dusk to dawn lighting cycle. This cycle is of major importance for many plants and animals in setting a rhythm for their reproductive cycle.
  11. Yupe... the dimmable module for ATI comes with it's own computer... no need for IKS or Aquatronica... must order then LFS bring in... I heard the price is a staggering 200% of the Powermodul The beauty of that product is... you just fit in the recommended tubes in the allocated slots and the computer will do the rest... brilliant And I got a feeling the fans will be computer controlled (in terms of intensity) too... if I am not wrong
  12. Wow bro... you really got exotic taste for exotic fishes
  13. I thought the clam lost its colour along the way ... your SPS looking great! You added last weekend right? Well done
  14. But a ATI Powermodul for upgrading??? Emm... since you are gonna rip it apart... perhaps you can take some photographs of the internal parts... especially the eballast... I'm curious what's inside too... but don't dare to open up the lightset
  15. I always see a lot at Ah Beng's... not very expensive lah... but sometimes can be very hard to keep in the tank for a very long period of time I am planning to get one too.
  16. Emm... your clam not very colourful... is it new? or been with you for some time already? Yes... post FLAME picture please... promise no flaming
  17. I am using a normal Sony digicam DSC-N1... the one with the very large touch LCD screen (1 year old model)... for me it is good enough coz I usually photo edit before posting... perhaps you wanna consider the Olympus new models... those fully waterproof ones... then you can submerge your cam inside the tank and shoot macro without distortion from the glass
  18. Haiz.... give me a break lar... I know you guys always go through my list and see what's missing... ok lah... 3 months later
  19. Retest your Ca and Mg... and perhaps look for another set of test kits to double-confirm. I bought the Tropic Marine Ca+Mg for the same reason... to double confirm my Salifert's and they are usually very close. Your Ca perfect... and I don't think high Mg is too much of a concern as it will drop pretty quickly once you start stocking corals... low KH can be easily solved... cheaply too... and 8 is not like a bad situation yet... so Im not sure another round of water change is necessary... Hey, don't be "kiasu" lah... if you so free... help me change water lah
  20. Try feeding frozen brine shrimp/mysis dipped with Garlic Guard for the Flame... Luckily your tank is a 4ft... plenty of room for 2 Tangs to territorize... oh you can also try throw in some market veggie for your tangs... they love it!
  21. I have lots of them on my LR already... not as much as yours bro Acidjazz (all covered, every square inch) I also noticed my back glass panel starting to have round patches of coraline growth... that is definitely a sign of a maturing tank and I shall update you guys with a pix once the patches become more substantial in numbers
  22. Thanks for sharing bro... You got the Powermodul (4 tubes)? If not, mind sharing what fixture r u using coz the effect is quite stunning and I can tell that your corals are all looking healthy I like how u make good use of the Tunze Mini too... it is a very versatile little fellow there and I love the extra long cable
  23. Wow bro... you really into fishes nowadays... all very nice specimens... err... your TBT a little to T lor... Is it eating already? Makes the Stream look like a GIANT!!!
  24. Bro... I'm not trying to discourage you or whatsoever... but you seriously need to be in control of the tank... at least one of you... whoever willing to learn/read more... you can't have 2 masters controlling the tank... coz in Marine... there are too many factors to be properly coordinated and planned... and this is where 2 may not necessarily be better than 1... Start with the simple stuff first... here's a good website for you. www.liveaquaria.com And you really need to explain to your dad how Marine is different from Freshwater All the best
