  1. I have finally confirmed on my lighting fixture... will update you guys very very soon for all the precious suggestions
  2. Yeah I like Storm's spirit... as long as the tank is in good condition... ugly duckling can also become swan one day
  3. Pretty happy with the test result today... NO2: 0ppm (Salifert) NO3: 0.2ppm (Salifert) But I will get a new NO3 set to test again next week as this set is nearing its expiry date. Might not be accurate anymore. Will test for Phosphate tomorrow.
  4. Yupe... I intend to keep the tank at 27ºC to 28ºC range. That will reduce the running time significantly. I can even run shorter blue period as the office will be empty after 6.00pm. Maybe just run a couple of 3W moonlight after that.
  5. Yeah most probably T5... possibly 4 tubes. I have sold my 10 tubes ATI PM to a nice Taiwanese reefer Probably not full Euphyllia, but mix reef mainly LPS and softies... some sea fans too.
  6. Got my Arctica 1/3hp chiller serviced today... actually the distributor called me last Friday to fix this appointment... they will call every 6 months as a reminder... superb service :yeah: Now the chiller is ready
  7. Yeah Green Wrasse is a real annoyance... especially with shrimps I prefer your previous scaping more as it looks more stable and balance And your bubble is definitely looking much better... good job
  8. Make us wet the floor... err... by drooling of course
  9. Yupe actually I have been considering that too... thanks bro!
  10. Yeah I did consider the Solaris (or even the sister product Galileo)... but cost is a major factor here. Furthermore, a 4ft Solaris consumes about 400W. Still exceeded my quota.
  11. I think it's mainly caused by the light blue background which bro Chercm manages to keep so clean
  12. I might not go with MH in the end... still considering the pros and cons... and I will not be able to meet my target of halving my power consumption I have just reserved a piece of nice True Octo from a friend... I guess that will set my new direction
  13. Looking much better now... keep it up
  14. Well that's probably an alternative too... have you experience any obvious savings? Mind sharing?
  15. Bro the MH is being mounted at the top, not sitting on the metal frame
  16. I have just mixed a full tank using Marine Environment Salt. At 1.025 the Mg is 1420ppm. Just wonder how come yours are so low. I am using Salifert test kit. 1 possibility is, when you first tested the salt, it has not fully dissolved yet.
  17. Never thought of that... combining the sky and the ocean... shall we add another small tank inside to keep hamsters?
  18. Let me share with you guys... My previous setup consumed 757.8 kW (757800W) per month. Largest contributor being my Artica 1/3hp (840W) that ran approximated 10 hours a day (temp range 25ºC to 26.5ºC) amounting to 252 kW/month. So my aim is to cut that to half... not exceeding 378.9 kW/month. To put that in perspective, if Singapore is to produce electricity using coal, my old setup would've released approximately 750 kg worth of green house gas into the atmosphere (that's 9 ton a year) Luckily Singapore relies on cleaner ways of producing electricity... but nevertheless the truth is still mind boggling
  19. Here are some drawings for my lighting... I've passed it to Aquamarin a couple of days ago... but I am still considering whether to use MH or T5 So will hold it for a day or two What you guys think? The thing is... with MH... I will not be able to reach my goal of halving my carbon footprint Now I know how it feels for countries to volunteer their own carbon emission limit
  20. Yeah I find the right side a little high... but again I will try not to overstock the tank... gotto be true to its "sustainable" concept... and I can't possibly achieve that with a overloaded tank
  21. Thanks bro... yeah I like it very much too
  22. Well... after what happened to all my 3 Vortechs... I seriously don't have the faith anymore... sorry
  23. Hoping that a single Tunze Wavebox (maximum 30W) can keep my LPS and softies happy... will monitor the wave effect in the coming days... if needed can add another Wavebox (extension).
  24. Although quite busy at work today... still manage to add the Tunze Wavebox... newest version (improved)... starting to miss the classic aluminium driver I like Aquamarin's warranty label with indication of month/year of purchase... makes it so much easier to keep track of things
