  1. I recommend Aquabee pumps as they consume less electricty. In most cases, less power consumption equals to less heat generation. Aquabee pumps are also quieter and smaller. Do consider Remember... return pump is one of the few equipments that will run 24/7... so 50W of saving means $7.50 less on your monthly electricity bill. Choose wisely... it's not that we can do our shopping in some other planets
  2. Hi guys As you all know... I am considering decommisioning my home tank... do not have a particular reserve price in mind... and will NOT sell the items separately... if the price offered is sensible... I will sell. 3. Can lah... I wanna see Ah Jie's tanks... 3 somemore... must have 3 separate threads
  4. How normal? Share leh... I thot you only go for exquisite specimens?
  5. Here's how the filling up looks like... I call it the "young boy peeing effect"
  6. Pix taken this morning... the Gonio is recovering... glad and relieved
  7. One of my Red Gonioporas... turning white < Shot taken 10 Sept 06 >
  8. Hi Lone... yes I promise to help you along the way... so don't feel shy to post me any question (about reefing lah). A RO filter will have 2 outlets... 1 for cleansed water... 1 for waste water... if I am not wrong, the ratio is 1 part cleansed water : 3 parts of wasted water... so RO is an expensive and slow process... but it's the best!
  9. Ah Jie... not as naughty as my Queer True Perc
  10. Nah... it's over... no more noise Monday onwards
  11. So happy to see the Hammer again... ahh... the good old times
  12. Bro... I am an impatient man... but no choice... DI water is considered bearable... RO probably take 2 days and end up with 300 gallons of wasted water Actually it is not hard at all... just let the DI unit run 1 full working day... but the sound of the water splashing was kinda annoying for the entire studio
  13. The bf will be placed inside a betta box within the sump for the rest of his life
  14. Nope not camping tonight Pretty confident the tank will hold well... I've setup many many tanks before and "the force is strong in this one" The floor is actually industrial grade floor laminate and the nearest water outlet is actually inside the pantry (a few feets away)... say "touch wood"... the water will flow towards the pantry... down to the drain outlet
  15. Yes... it's thicker than normal air tube... took 8 hours... if using normal rubber hose, probably 30 minutes
  16. Wah... deep blue sea Tomorrow will continue to fill up the sump... probably take another 30 minutes... then Steve will come over to fire up all the equipments If everything goes according to plan... will add salt Monday morning
  17. Took 8 hours to fill up the main tank, external overflow box and sump (partially)... ATI BM looking nice... with the only Eheim pump used in this setup
  18. Yeah... first time ever... dripping down the overflow chamber
  19. I still don't think water height within the sump is determined by the return pump... I believe the water level is determined by ME and I will let the partitions in my sump and Bubble Master help me determine that. Well... perhaps we are talking about the same thing in different manner...
  20. Emm... actually I think the sump partitions determine the water level within the sump... ATI Bubble Master works best when water does not exceed 10" high... so will keep water below that level. If I am to removed all bioballs and keep it empty, I think the splashing will be audible even when the cabinet is closed... and that is the last thing I want in the office as it can be distracting sometimes
  21. I forgot to collect the TDS meter from AM But after checking with bro Cherm (running the same DI Unit)... he gave me the confidence that my TDS is close to zero (if not zero). His TDS reading is zero btw. Right now I am filling up the tank real slowly... to enable the DI unit to works its best Hopefully can complete this process by today... then... tomorrow another BIG day
