A 1/2hp chiller still kicks in non stop? Either the flow rate is not optimum... or the chiller requires major servicing... coz looking at your tank spec (plus lighting) an efficient 1/4hp can already do the job

As long as it is well fed... it will have little incentive to consume your "yucky" looking Leather... do feed a bit more making sure it gets a pellet or two daily
