Will suggest you change the filter shortly after fog settle so that whatever chemical which had flew onto the water surface will be removed quite immediately rather then getting circulated. P.S. Depend. If you buy bulky items, then it is worth while. I used VPOST for shipping parts for my bike. I generally save about 30% of the freight charges as compared to USPS used by most US retailer.

Agreed with Tineng, the cost of replacing pumps can be much higher and you could end up with no working skimmer when parts run out. The concept of chiller vs pump is different. Where chiller is design to to switch on/off when desired while the pump is not. For certain model of pump, the impellor could jam if turn on and off too regularly.

Don't worry too much abt the salinity. 1.023 is perfectly fine. Raising the salinity may affect your current lifestock now since they are already used to it. I had my fair share of melting yumas and rics. In fact, my yuma is directly under my 250W MH and it bloom like nobody business. IMO, they are ok with highlight just that some will bleach due to sudden high light intensity. But if they don't melt away, the colour will recover back.
