That's good to know. I manage to overcome this by using rockscape and using counter wave method for my current decomming SPS tank. But I can't stop my 2 giant pistol shrimps from making the hole thou.. Knowning Lemon, he will come out with some magic la.

Lemon, i saw your post in Terryz's thread that you gonna add sand. if you are going to have strong flow in future for SPS. Grade 1 will be a be headache unless u can place your rockscape and wave maker to minimize the "hole in sandbed effect". Just my 2 cts.

i'm a user of poly filter for more than 6 years now and never experience the same problem u had. IMO, this is one of the best chemical filter in the market. Safe for all kind of tanks. As for changing of the filter, i changed them once a week or whenever it become totally dark in color. The good thing about polyfliter is you can detect what is being absorb from your tank. The initial colour before it turn too dark will determine what majority had been remove from your tank. Think the back of the packing had the explanation. I run out liao and never stock due to decomm.

Yes. What Jacky said is true. Proper husbandary is important. Personally, i had experienced success with coral snow on red slime. Like Jacky said, this is no miracle product and it does take times for system which had serious diatoms issue. Water change and increase of flow in tank will help as well. Diatoms always appear and thrive in low flow area where all the waste gather.
