  1. I had used both 1/3HP model before. Artica win hand down for efficiency if you don't mind the noise. Teco TR20 need a much longer time to chill a 5ft vs Artica DBA250. You save a lot on your elect bill. So is $ vs noise. Depend on which is more important to you. Also u need to manage the heat as well. The longer the chiller run.. the longer the hot air stay in your room.
  2. Do note like most fishes.. The whole resident butterfly can be very aggressive to species which look alike. E.g. double saddle and falcula
  3. Giving away a cabinet. Must collect by tomorrow(15 Jul) noon if you are interested else will dispose off. Cabinet is current used for a 2.5Ft cube but can fit a 3footer with 2.5ft breath. Come with all doors. Contact me at 96836545.
  4. E.g. u press down arrow instead of up arrow to set desire temp.
  5. If you don't mind a OEM version. Try this. Basically the same except the button is reverse in operation. I myself using a daeil.
  6. IMO, the easier one are black back, Auriga (Threafin), Vagabond. WIll start to feed on pellet quite quickly. And usually no issue with frozen mysis. If water quality is good, e.g. Aged tank. Golden Butterfly is also quite an easy species. I have successfully keep the above in my tank with several other species and some of them for more than 1 year now. Do note some species can grow really big. Do note, like angels, butterflies carry a fair bit of parasites on them. So better quarantine them properly before introducing them to the main tank.
  7. Irwana came quite a lot of them 2 weeks or so back. Think all gone, maybe you can check with them if any left or when coming again.
  8. maybe u want to state your tank size and budget so the folks here can have an idea what size of CR u looking at
  9. Agreed w solo77, believe your ADV skimmer is a beckett skimmer. Which is basically a very powerful venturi skimmer which generally produce very good skimming result. The only downside is the power consumer as it need a big pump to drive it efficiently. If you gonna spend a couple of hundred to get a needle wheel skimmer. I would suggest you continue to use the ADV skimmer as it take a while before you will break even from the electrical bill saving. Just my 0.02.
  10. Ya. If possible run 2 compressors. 1 for the rooms and 1 for the tank. I know someone in the forum had done what u plan to do and in the end it was not so ideal. Can't remember what was the issue faced. May need to do a search on the historical posting. Hopefully this reefer will surface and share his experience here.
  11. Time to stop looking at tank thread.. Esp those SPS one...

na.. my butterflies will rip them apart in 1 day. I tried a few type of coral liao :(

  12. I don't think the flatworm exit solution will killed the nudi eating monti. I had this problem in my old tank and it took me more than 1 month "killing" all of the pest and you had to do it after the lights goes out and with the help of a touch light. IMO, the best way is to remove the monti totally from your tank ASAP. Coz once the monti start to lay eggs... is a disaster waiting to happen. and do not try to kill them with sharp object as they can split into more smaller one. Best is to suck them out using a pipette. Do note, this white nudi will attack all kinds of montipora, including digitata which belong to the monti family.
  13. Got to go change my name liao.. think too common...
