  1. sounds interesting!!! what a unique way to train the sun coral to eat...
  2. erm...that's was kindda expensive...i got mine brand new for $40...
  3. hi whale...thanks for the advise...will try to look for it!!!
  4. yup, got it from PR...from the first shipment but i got it one week after that...the leftovers were still quite nice surprisingly....
  5. totally agree with AT on that man..good back strength is a must!!! haha..go pump it up at the gym first.... yup, make sure u're creative when aqua scaping and make sure they dun end up looking like fruit heaps... u will have to keep playing around with the positions of the corals until they are at an optimum place... that is, they open up well and look happy!! do consider the compatibility of various corals too before putting them together... as AT said, that's an evolving process... u'll stop only after finding that nothing needs to be shifted anymore..that's when u' can sit back and enjoy your reef...still waiting for my time to come soon....heh
  6. erm, if u've been diving b4, u'll notice most sun corals found in the wild are attached up-side-down to the underside of rocks...almost shaded completely from the sun... can try glueing them that way...heh
  7. After the PR frenzy..most of the softies were propagated..that's why some still look very small....green star polyp over running my tank on the right...trying to get rid of them....
  8. the chromis is quite big..but also because the clown is rather small...so makes it look bigger..
  9. the green acro in the previous pic where the flash is was fragged from a HUGE colony at sis's island...growing really fast... the one on the sand bed was also from the same colony...gave it to a friend... i guess it's so much easier because singapore water's are not exactly as good as those else where... most of the corals on the sand bed were fragged and left to heal..heh..
  10. before the sps frenzy at Pr..not exactly alot of sps in my tank...but burnt a deep enuff hole in my pocket...
  11. alright!!! my friend helped me resize the rest of the pics..should be of acceptable size already...
  12. hi, i'm using 250w 10000k mh supplemented by actinics...erm..ok, think i shall go borrow my bro's photoshop... heh...ironic..i'm studying computing but know nuts abt such IT stuff...argh...
  13. thanks tanzy!!! sorry, but need u to resize this last pic..can teach me how to resize so that i can post the rest? if not i dun think i'll post anymore and irritate other users...heh
  14. I'll just post one more pic..latest pic after some sps acqusition... sorry abt the size again...
  15. yah, i've got one or 2 pics without the flash....but i need to know how to resize the pics first. by the way, without the flash right, the colours in the image looks washed out
  16. oppsss....the image is too big...any idea how to resize it??? i've got a couple more pics to post....
  17. Hi, Any comments on it??? i've had it for almost a year already and so far, it's got a mixture of corals...softies, lps and sps... but sorry abt the picture quality man.. no experience on aquarium photography...this pic's taken 1 month back before i started selling some of my softies and lps to make way for the PR sps.... but honestly, i would still prefer a mixture of corals rather than just one kind dominating although there's the constant chemical warfare going on... more challenging perhaps
  18. hi dispar anthias, when did u see the blue mushies at t9*??? been looking for them. do they still have alot? dun wanna make a wasted trip there lah..somemore i got no transport....
  19. anyone knows which lfs has any metallic blue striped mushies or are willing to sell yours? been looking for it for some time already...
  20. try odeon katong (mari** pe**)...they should have it there..my friend got it from there...4 pl tubs for 3 feet tanks...the guy there has very good resources...
  21. Hi people, met joe-p for the first time at PR earlier...nice meeting u man!!! got myself a deep water acro today also. managed to save up money for one piece!!!.so exciting!!! wonder how it'll behave in my tank..will try to share once i can see any patterns or what-so-ever too... by the way, mine's almost white..i'm putting it right at the side of my tank...abit more obscured...see how it goes...wish me luck !
  22. hi AT, was thinking of doing that also...but quite a few tips kena algae..gonna be a hassle...will be my last choice resort!! By the way, u have any experience in deep water acro??? got one from PR just now... really unique man...totally white..looks like it's bleached..haha..
  23. Hi tanzy, that's what joe p told me too..he said leave it alone if it is growing and the tissue will grow over it...yup, humilis is a slow grower but so far it's got some growth already which i was rather surprised myself. ..that's why rather confused on the next course of action. will probably monitor it for a while more and see how.
  24. wow..u're gonna be one rich fellow man!!! haha...yah, why dun u let those with 3 mouths split naturally? it wun take long before they split into 3...at least wun have to risk operating on them...they're afterall $50 a piece
  25. Hi, Was wondering if anyone of u experienced algae growing on the growth tips of acros??? noticed some algae growing on the growth tips of my humilis which i gotten from the 2nd last PR shipment...anyway to remove them or must i frag them ??? quite heart wrenching to see growth on acros but the next thing u know, algae grows on them...
