practical fish keeping is my preference anytime!!! they feature tanks from all over the world and u get first hand information on the way their tanks are being run. u get to see thier water parameters too...i especially like the part where they compare the different parameters of the different tanks that are being featured!!!

i think 150w would be just nice..especially if u're thinking of upgrading to more advanced corals in future... do it once, do it right...not that using t5 is bad but i thought might as well get better one so u wun have to waste money on upgrades in future...i've got about 13-14 inches of water and using 250w...i'm relying in fan to keep my temp below 28 though...

yah, really lovely pictures man!! the second and third pics really feels so natural... really looks like it's straight from the sea, especially the third on with the table tops.... yah, looks abit like planted tank man...the staghorn in the postion within the golden ratio....i think we can learn alot about marine aquascaping through fresh water counterparts....

I've got this coralline growth that looks like a rose..can give to your gf on the next valentine's day..should be big enuff by then!!!haha...layering out really nicely...if only that was montipora!!! just dropped by PR...still quite a plentiful of sps... had to control myself man..got a pink birdnest!!! finally found one that's not too big!!! that has removed all the monday blues man..

are there alot of sps left? wanna go join in the frenzy too..too been busy to go down to see...will they be open today( monday) because of the corals that just came in??? just fragged one of my staghorn..base kena rtn man...sad..lets hope it's recover

u serious? that's so sad...most people get hooked onto the hobby instead of giving it up...really "rare" white acros u have..heheh..bet they'll look gorgeous when they were still alive

nope, fresh water dip won't harm your leather..just make sure u dun dip for too long...most people do fresh water dips to cure corals of diseases like brown slime or to get rid of parasites

my lawnmower blenny died 2 days ago..after abt 4-5 months in my tank....so sad... no algae for it to graze on...and it doesn't seem to eat the fish food that i feed to my other fishes until it got so skinny (and hungry) and decided to try the flakes out..but i think too late man...haiz...but it sure did an excellent job when i had some algae bloom a few months back....in memory.....

yah, i'm looking for green bubble..but then again, i dun wanna have too many lps also...the sweeper tentacles always give me a headache....and my sps suffers. heh. but then again, they are such lovely corals....what a dilemma...to buy or not to buy....heh...

yah man, he always seems to be able to lay his hands on the rare corals...love his red brain too...and his huge pinkish red ricordea... his system is quite simple actually right but his nitrate is 0....

by the way, my ricordeas are doing pretty well under 250w...they are in the mid level....i think there was improved coloration....yup, just my experience... though sometimes, they do look abit stretched....heh...

totally agree wif woon ming... if u understand how much light the sun can produce compared to ours... i think ours really a minute fraction of what the sun offers... doubt there can be too much light for most corals...the thing is to let them slowly get used to the increase in lighting...slowly bring them up to the surface..

hi, i think u need to upgrade your lights....I just sold sea marine my caulifower... heh... anyway, best to invest in a good set once and for all instead of having to upgrade after half a year or something...learnt from experience...spent alot of money last time on my 2 feet tank. was on 2 * 36w...then upgrade to 2*55w.... and blah blah blah...yup, save up loh....

I thought it's called brown jelly??? anyway, u'll see some brown jellylike substance on the tissue.... if u see that, can try doing a fresh water dip.... or siphon them away..... erm, i've not tried bubbles before but hammers are pretty easy to keep..

why dun u try buying from PR at balestier??? they have it there...

nice acros and montis at lck 11*...price abit steep though... $60 for a small piece of purple acro... went there for the first time...abit disappointing. heh..thought it'll be quite big wif lotsa corals...

Hi people, I know i shud be posting this in the weekly live stock forum but i thought posting it here will be easier for sps nuts. just went to lck 11* and saw some nice purple montis and acros...prices abit steep though. ($60 for small pieces ) but colours really nice...would get it if i had the $$$ but then again, after PR's crazy sps shipment, i'll feel like a carrot head if i pay $60 for such small pieces. heh.

get a smmer with capacity AT LEAST twice that of your tank volume. If u're having 55g tank, get one that's more than 100g skmmer capacity would be good...u can never overskim....

hey dispar, gilbert brings in corals also??? never knew that....yup, but totally agree...gilbert's tank has been up for years and it's very very healthy.... shud check out the polyp extension of most of his corals....amazing..and he sells his equipment at good prices too...he's got alot of contacts if u need him to help u find something...heh..

heh...i have the same feeling too. that marine fish is the owner of WLK...no offence if u're not the owner coz they're pretty famous for the wrong things = notorious. coz so far, there are only 2 posts by u and both posts are about u voting WLK as a good lfs and promoting it.. Either that or it's because u've only been to WLK for marine lfs.... any comments,, other reefers?
