  1. I had that too! No idea what it was!
  2. Decided to add some cheato in the sump, found some light diffuser lying around and cut it to size to separate the cheato from the skimmer. I've also decided to rescape the rocks to allow more light to reach the corals. The new FTS!
  3. Thanks for all the comments! The pair of clowns are the main reason I stayed in this expensive hobby. I've had my fish longer than I know my wife! (shssssh). In fact, they are really strong survivers! I've even operated on the female once when she had huge fungus growth at her chin area. To cut the story short, I put her under the blade, she bleed but lived on without the fungus. Cheers!
  4. Hi stetan, I had exactly the same dilemma as you did! What I did was to list down the pros and cons of each. Cube Mini 80 Pros Choice of colours for cabinet. Larger sump tank. No curved glass to distort viewing. Able to mount vortech pump at the back of the tank. Open top for easier evaporative cooling, I managed to maintain below 26.5 degrees using fans alone. Able to customise the setup, example: choice of return pump, choice lighting option. Better skimmer! Cons Sump tank is small, very challenging to fit in refugium. Glass to me is a tad too thin. Sump is too small to fit bigger skimmer JBJ 28g Nano Cube LED Pros All in one, all important equipment already provided. Lights offer capability to be controlled independently. Cons [*]Cabinet comes only in one colour. [*]The material used in the construction of the cabinet will expand when moisture seeps in over time (happened in my JBJ 12g). [*]The 4 metal rings just below th base of the tank will rust over time. [*]Absolutely tiny space for skimmer, very little option for choice of a decent skimmer. [*]Closed canopy, heats up easily. [*]The plastic hood covering the lights hazed up over time (happened in my JBJ 12g). After doing my homework, decided to get
  5. I've been keeping this pair of maroon clown fish for nearly a decade. It all started with a hand me down 3 feet tank, after which I down graded to a small The 12g nano tank works fine but the electronics was breaking down plus it was near impossible to keep the water temp low. Thus after some research, I decided to go for Brief equipment list as follow: Aquabee 2000 - Return Pump Maxspect G2 60w + Lens Kit Bubble Magus NAC3.5 Cone Insump skimmer Vortech MP10es W 2 x DC Fan for evaporative cooling As this is an open top tank, I was able to maintain between 25 to 27 degrees for water temp without the need for chiller. Thanks!
  6. Sorry, what is this Cube 810 nano tank?
  7. Hi, does anyone here own a ELOS tank?
  8. Hi everyone, thank you for your interest in my free chiller. Please stop contacting me via PM. Thanks!
  9. Ok, reserved for Marcuss. You can pick it up tomorrow night if you want. I may have an old calcium reactor and old kalk reactor too if you want. Need to see if I can still find the parts. Seeya.
  10. Almost gave up about 4 years ago but my maroon clown pair refuse to give up on me. Been keeping the pair since 2004 and they are still as active as ever. They spawn once a week, but the eggs never seem to hatch. They seem quite ok in this nano tank, being the only occupant with their own RBTA.
  11. Atman Chiller Model Cs400, modified with external temperature controller so that it takes the water temp from your tank by having an external temperature probe. Clearing up my place to prepare room for baby. Chiller was decommissioned about 2 years back. Was in perfect working condition before decommissioning. However, I cannot guarantee it is still in working condition now. Do hurry, need to clear by this week. First come first served. Totally free but self collect from my place in Elias Road, Pasir Ris. Monday to Wednesday, after 8pm. Cheers!
  12. Hi everyone! A belated merry christmas! Any chance anybody knows of anyone or any shop who can modify an existing JBJ 12g Nanocube to Nanotuners 12g Your advise will be greatly appreciated!
  13. Thanks everyone for sharing this great way to remove nitrate and phosphate in our tank Now I wonder is there any tank maker out there who does custom tanks with built in aglae scrubber?
  14. Hi jowenteo, are you using the Magic Wave All-In-One tanks from Weipro? Looks like a pretty good package to me. Could you sharemore about the tank?
  15. I believe this design will work perfectly well! It is the same as the nurce top off system. However, I think the company has stopped production.
  16. Hi oqs, yes, please dopost some pics. I've always been curious how to fit a MH into a nano tank. Thanks in advance!
  17. Hi Ernie, I am most impressed to heard your amazing feat. I'm keeping a 12gallon nano too and trying to keep things going with a weekly 80% water change. Can you show me a pic of yout tank with 3 RBTA? Thanks in advance!
  18. Hi all, want to sell my used Atman CS-400CIRV Chiller. It has been modded with an additional FOX temp controller to over come the frequent cut off that Atman chiller has. More details can be found on my thread about the chiller here: My Atman Chiller Mod I tore down my 3 feet for 2 years already and have since cleaned my chiller with mild acid and stored it in my store room with hopes that 1 day I will have a bigger tank. I guess that isn't going to happen and hence I want to sell the chiller. Selling it for $250. Interested parties please PM me!
  19. Hi all, bought a brand new Icecap ballast back in 2005 from Reefdepot with plans to overdrive my T5 tubes but never had a chance to use it at all. Now that I have downgraded to a tiny 12g nano tank, I guess I will never use the ballast. So I am selling it for $200 brand new and in the box. I've only opened it to check the contents. Interested buyer can PM me.
  20. Hi sky107line and barnacle, thanks for all the advice. As for the QED P75, I'm not looking a cable right now, just looking for an optical switch. I've tried comparing the sound from an optical cable versus the coaxial cable. I think I prefer the digital sound . I tried searching the entire Delphi building but not a single shop carries a optical switch although they all seem to know what I am talking about. Any advice where I can look next?
  21. Can I ask why is coaxial better than optical?
