  1. It's been only two days but my corals seems to be opening bigger with better colours! Check this video! Remember to try the HD version! http://youtu.be/ATyHJ4d4j1Y
  2. I did a comparison much earlier when researching for a replace set. This is what I used as a basis of comparison. (This is just an amateur comparison! I apologise if there are any inaccuracies)
  3. I ordered the GHL Mitra from Dr Evil, price is $1780, excluding the mount.
  4. Yes! It's really bright! I'm using high efficiency mode which Mac at 80% plus I am setting brightness only at 75%
  5. The biggest headache was how to mount the lights on top of the tank. Thankfully, Dr Evil came to the rescue with the Mazarra stands. It really is very versatile, we had quite a few options before we settled on the simplest solution! And finally . . . We had a hell of a time drooling at the amount of light, playing with the thunderstorm mode and the various channels of light available. This light is amazing!!!
  6. My Maxspect 60W has been giving me loads of problems with the LEDs not powering on and I have to cycle the power switch to get everything lit. It's time for an upgrade! I finally settled for the GHL MItra 6100hv.
  7. Some pics of the Mitra. The full colour quick guide. The included sunglasses! Very long USB cable. Hanging Kit. A very neat and compact LED driver. The main unit, surprisingly small but heavy! Very shiny black mirror. The LED cluster, it's so tiny!!!
  8. Haha, yes, I was surprised to see a pair of sunglasses too!
  9. Yeah, I am facing the exact same headache now! But the lights are simply amazing! I am having so much fun playing with the software!
  10. The lights finally arrived via DHL! I cannot wait to programme and mount it! Can you figure out which LED light this is?
  11. Hi everyone! guess what? I have decided! Guess which LED lights I am getting?
  12. Hi gargamelron, you are right. If I use the full power of the GHL Mitra. 190watts will probably burn everything in my 1.5feet. Hmm, it does look very attractive and I suspect the combination of LEDs will make the corals "POP". Hmmm . . . must think really hard . . .
  13. Based on the posted specs above, what will you go for?
  14. Sorry, didn't realise table are not supported. Converted it to a picture instead.

I decided to put it all in one nice table. In case any of the info is inaccurate, do let me know!
  16. Hi Deadman, did you manage to see the Kessil over any corals? Wondering if Kessil can make the coral colours go "POP"?
  17. Thanks Hon! Never knew it is available locally! Hi DeadmanZ, any idea why your friend is letting it go? The price is really tempting!
  18. Hi jxlex, thanks again! Yup, you are right, both the razor and vega are available locally. Actually, I would love to go for the Razor as it is a real steal for what it gives. Unfortunately, even the smallest 120watt model will stick out of the boundaries of my 1.5 feet tank. As for AI Vega Colour, hmmm, I get a mix feeling after reading reviews about it. Any comments on the Vega Colour? Hi JimmiPaige, yeah, so sad, Kessil and the GHL would be amongst my top choice but both are not locally available. Haiz . . .
  19. Hi jxlex, the PAR38 may not be sufficient for me. I am currently using close to 92 watts for the LED, will likely need 3 units of PAR38s to get there. I hope to find a more integrated and elegant solution as the tank is in my dining room. After some reading, I found a few more options like: AquaIllumination Vega Colour Maxspect Razor Kessil A350 Ecotech Radion XR30W PRO GHL Mitras Its a pity most of these are not easily available in Singapore. Any advice?
