I managed to handfeed my false percula with dry food! :yeah Btw, I revamped the entire tank. Took me a back-breaking 4 hours, here are my pics of the new look. It looks taller than before, but at least it keep the parameter of the nano free for cleaning.

Yeah, thats what I have been told. But the new one is bigger in size than the resident one. But didnt see it since last night. Will scrutinise the tank again this evening...if not I will have to release the boxer shrimpt from quarantine to do rescue and retrieval of the body.

Poll on Reefer demographics
juscool replied to juscool's topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
Update. Anyone has any idea how I can relocate this poll to another forum space? -
Thanks for the info Keith. Well, may consider the snail as my brother just bought me another mandarin fish over the weekend. So it may have to shelve the algae blenny till somefish dies. The pythoplanktons are the pre-mixed ones from the fishfarm, I'm not sure if they have fertilizers. Cheers Justin

Hi MSavy, Great looking tank now. Well I have just introduced a boxer shrimp this weekend. Now I have 2 mandarinfish, a boxer shrimp and a sand vacuum cleaner ( my 2 spots goby, he does an excellent job on the sand.) Turns it into grade A overnight! Well, I think my tank is too stocked for the algae blenny...but I guess I just need someone to do the glass..cos the rest of the cleaning crew takes care of the LR and sand.

Hi , I know someone did a poll the other time on the age of reefers. I think lets combine the two this time to get a response from femals reefers. This should be interesting...Just to see how the demographics show

Hi M Savy, Great Scaping!. Where did your get your algae blenny from. Does he clean the Algae from the rocks onoly or glass as well? Any compatibility issues? With gobies and shrimp?

Hi Jerv, Any reason why you prefer TECO to the CL280? Its expensive indeed. Whats the biggest tank capacity it can chill? Als can you show us your set up with the tubing and all? Thanks
-
Thanks bluecarpet, Yeah I share your sentiment as well. But eveyone suggesting a turbo. Will consider a seahare..but they look like they will grow very big. Do they? Also I know seaslugs like nudibranch loves to attack the sponges like blue sponges. Will the hare do the same? Cheers

4 degrees in 15 mins? Wow. How much is it bro? Does it have a timer. so you set it to come on 15 minutes every hour to save power. Maybe you can adjust the power as well
-
Yeah, understood...but I dont seem to master this technique. Maybe will starve them for a week and try again.

Thanks nakazoru for the info. Not sure if the pods will multiply fast enough. But the mandarin has started taking a liking for brine shrimps. I make sure I turn the pump off at feeding time and ensure some of the shrimps sink to the bottom in front of the madarin. So I guess he is eating. I have not had luck training my LS to eating dried food as they spit it out. The guy at ALANTIS, claims he trains all his fishes to eat dried pallets or food. I'm not sure if thats for real, cos my chromis and clown are fussy when it comes to food. Thanks again for the tip, I will invest in a turbo soon. I will get a cleaner as well. But there is an annoying tiny sea-cockroach looking bug that likes to hang around my clown and cardinal. At first I thought they had some disease or growth, butsecond look this cockroach clings to their bodies. Will they cause any harm to the LS?

what does your harlequin feed on?

Thanks for the advise. When you say algae will diminish over time due to the bacteria build up in a matured tank? or some other contributing factor? So its true that tap water causes more algae? Initially I thought leaving tap water to stand for more than 24 hours will reduce the chlorine which is harmful for the fishes... so there is also phospate in our tap water that is contributing to algae growth? Plan to get a turbo snail now..but one silly qeustion, will the snail like eat up caroline algae on my LR as well?

Snails need to be hypo too?
juscool replied to KennethK's topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
Thanks bro. So it means its better to also keep the tank's salinity lower to prevent itch?
