On my first Durso I got the flushing action. I was told that lets say your stand pipe and all fittings are 1”, your hose or plumbing leading to the sump should be larger. Don’t give up on the Durso it WILL work. Maybe you have too small of pipe/hose leading to the sump. Maybe you made too small of a Durso, etc…
Usually if you slow the flow to the tank, it will stop the flushing action. Not a long term solution and certainly not a fix.
I once tried splitting my returns to my sump as you did with a T; it didn’t work well for me. I only tried doing that because I was getting the flushing action that you are describing. I thought it would help the Durso – it doesn’t. In the end I upped the size of the hose from the Durso to the sump and used the Durso design shown below. I very much prefer this design; I think it takes more flow. This solved my problems:

After I did all of the above, my overflow is absolutely dead silent.

I use a little valve on top of the durso too. They are cheap and they are excellent for adjusting the air.
