  1. i use Red Sea NO3/PO4 control - must dose it everyday. My sump is empty and i only use 2 piece of filter wool in there. recommended by the guy who setup my tank. So far been 4 months and running ok - abit of algae problem but I intend to have less white light soon to control that. Yah trouble lag must find a small anemone..... My 2 x triggers (got a new Blue lined) usually will bite anything new/ which moves once. and then they get bored. hhahaha My problem is detritus in the sump. got a chocolate chip star but not eating .. contemplating pin-cushion urchins....
  2. My wife + sister are pushing me to get an anemone for the maroon clown !! The clown keeps thinking the gronoporia is one and is even bringing it food... Now I'm thinking of which small sized anemone to get...
  3. Well you don't have any "destructive" fish so you can keep most stuff i guess? Get an anemone for your clownfish or have you already gotten one. Mushroom coral / sponges are relatively easy to keep i guess..... I personally like gronoporia and elegans coral...
  4. Your tank sounds nice..... I have a maroon clownfish also.... It's aggressive enough to stay with my fishes. Damsels = food in my tank..hahha
  5. Squirrelfish are predators after all (hence the big eyes) so as long as: 1- they are well fed 2 - the nemos do not fit into their mouth. hhaha I have an aggressive predatory/oddball tank Snowflake moray/ Clown trigger/ emperor angel/ miniata grouper/ cowfish/ sharpnose puffer/ lionfish the squirrelfish always kana chased, but its been doing ok so far...
  6. Yup squirrelfish are like that. Triggers (i've been keeping them for years) are even worse..... bloated like a balloon but will then start eating + shitting at the same time....grosses my wife out ....
  7. I had a volitans before and I got lazy - fed him dried prawn/ freshwater feeders / frozen brine shrimp and even pellets !! He went blind after about a year... Did some research and it was supposedly lack of marine nutrients or something. Yah my grouper keeps picking on smaller fishes unless I feed him damsels... He killed 3 banggai cardinals already... Damn spoilt. Anyways... Thanks for the offer again.....
  8. Apologies for the double post. Still thinking if I should keep my frogfish..... The larger he gets the more likely he will swallow something else.... Sigh Still looking for small clown trigger and that should be about it: Miniata grouper Harlequin tusk fish Emperor angel Maroon clown Yellow box fish Longhorn clownfish Black boxfish Cleaner wrasse Volitans lion fish Snowflake moray Warty frogfish Algae Blenny
  9. Unfortunately I jus bought one a couple of hours after my post..... Thanks for the offer dust - question about your lion fish though : isn't it not advisable to feed them freshwater feeders ? I actually feed mine damsels...
  10. Unfortunately I jus bought one a couple of hours after my post..... Thanks for the offer though- question about your lion fish though : isn't it not advisable to feed them freshwater feeders ? I actually feed mine damsels...
  11. Bro FUEL ... You are SO correct. I had 3 x Lionfish which AlL got eaten. The small 2 inch Frogfish swallowed a Fu Manchu Lionfish.. My grouper killed a small Dwarf Lion My moral eel ate a small Radiata Lion.. Sigh.. I am getting a Volitans Lion now. A BIG one.
  12. Yio Chu Kang. He is eating now but i need to catch him out and isolate with a chromis before he eats it ... juz mah fun loh,,,
  13. Looking for juvenile clown trigger...... say 2 to 3 inches..... Lemme know if anybody spots it . thanks !!
  14. no takers? guess i will donate back to Ah Beng then.....
  15. less than 2 inches. $50. healthy and always dangling its "bait". Just too slow to react and with all my big eaters around ..... don't like seeing it starve..
  16. http://www.equatordiving.com/m5b.jpg-for-web-large.jpg Healthy but is not able to get fed in my tank due to the harlequin tusk/ moray/ groupers snatching food... Interested please email edwinlee@singapore.com
  17. I'm too kan cheong ---- i put them in straight !! Hope the Frogfish eats soon.... The radiata is too small and its juz trying my luck - its only 2 inches long .... Gave up on buying the Lyretail Hog liao - My Miniata Grouper doesn't like the Harlequin Tush so high chance it will whack the Hog as well....
  18. I stand corrected...... Great video link dude ..... Now you got me worried about my mini-radiata lionfish....
  19. Dude the warty frogfish gets to 10 cm. No way it can eat a lionfish. The largest frogfish is only 22 inches - maybe small lions.... Think you mean Scorpionfish - yah those make an easy meal of lionfish. I just hope it EATS !!! Still ignoring the feeding-stick.....3 days liao.
  20. Yah hope the Warty Frogfish eats .... not cheap leh .... Radiata is always missing... Bought a Harlequin Tusk - started eating after 30 mins into the tank ?? Such a joy to buy....... Yah not too sure about the Hogfish as well as every site states they eat coral - not gonna buy until I have reassurances from fellow keepers....
  21. Clown trigger will be the last fish added in - and the smallest one which I can find....so should be okay.... Just added a Angler Frogfish (not eating) and Radiata Lionfish (not eating also) .... hiazzzz.... Btw anybody had experience with Lyretail Hogfish ? sites state that it eats coral ?? I have some soft coral so worried...otherwise I am keen on buying ...
  22. Upgrade !? Hahhaha... Should have taken wife's initial offer to do a six footer tank....... Dunno why I compromised on a smaller one !!!! Anyways ... Added a bangai cardinal / juvenile radiata lion / warty frogfish... Hope the frogfish can be converted to frozen or dry food... Had to fish out the dwarf lion cause it wasn't eating...not eating brine shrimp, frozen, even ghost shrimp... Gave it to ah beng
  23. Nwyk153, Porcupine - don't they get too big? believe only the short spine is small yah? Dog Faced - maxes at 40cm + ? thats quite big also.... Panther Grouper - used to have one - it got to 30cm and started eating tankmates. hhaha Zebra Eel - again too big , or should i mean too thick Yellowhead - nice but colors too similar to snowflake Clown Trigger - YES - looking for one ! Tusk - SAME !! Looking !! Sharks and rays are out man .... too big ..... Btw - how to build a Refugium? And what is Rowaphos? (replying this on the road)
