  4. Hmmm in that case, I can introduce medium-high flowrate to the tank ... and switch them off when feeding? That will work ya? I am trying to find a balance for my chaeto and seahorse in the same tank.
  5. Ya. If gluing is not an option, then you can go look for Ian or i-AQUATIC. his. Acrylic workshop is at Tampines. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  6. I just bought a TDS Meter from a nice guy in the forum. Anyone with refractometer to sell?
  7. What flowrate are you putting into the seahorse tank? My dilemma is that my refugium flowrate is quite slow which isnt the ideal condition for my chaeto and other macros. If I were to increase my flowrate, the horses may not like it ya? Read on the net, some sites give contrasting views, some say flowrate of even > 10x of tank capacity is fine... so say no.
  8. Wow, this is very nice. I applaud your determination to get it right.

  15. Thanks for all the compliments. Just added a small wavemaker in the refugium as the water movement is too muted. Here is the rockscape so far. Subject to further changes. Siong and sianz doing this.
  16. Small flattish piece. Bought from G O last week. Have not used before as it doesn't go with my rockscape. Paid $20 for it. Will sell it for $12. Collection at Marine Parade. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

  18. If there is something I dislike about this hobby, its rock scaping. Damn stressed doing it. Spent half the afternoon working on the rock scape. Back aching now.... ! Ok. Here it is. Yes, there is a net before every compartment's overflow. Chiller is on the side, outside the cabinet. Am using my old tank's chiller. As it is underpowered, I will have to upgrade to a 1/5Hp or 1/10Hp soon. Nope, no "S". The drain pipe goes into two seperate route. Ok this is how it works. Draining down pipe --------> Mechanical filter ------> Skimmer + Biopellets FR--------->RETURN PUMP | | | -------> Refugium --------------------------------------------------------->RETURN PUMP I have 2 downline... 1 goes to refugium directly. The refugium then flows directly to the return pump compartment w/o going through the skimmer and filter floss. I design it this way so that the refugium will be deep. I like my refugium big as I am a firm believer of raising macroalgae to suppress Po4 and nitrates. A big refugium will also help me grow more copepods. Furthermore, due to its depth, I can try my hand at raising a species tank in there. Probably seahorse or even frog fish. The prospects of having a 2nd display tank in the form of a display refugium (or species tank) was tantalizing. Seriously I wouldnt dare do this w/o Iwarna's Victor assurance that his tank maker can do this and they have done it before. I left it to Victor to figure out where the cabinet door needs to be "cut" coz an inch in miscalculation will ruin the whole cabinet.
  19. Ok sure. Reserved until tomorrow 1:30pm... I will call all those who responded for FCFS if the free rock isn't collected..
  20. Sorry. Its reserved just a minute ago..... pending collection tomolo. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
  21. Bought 5 pieces of rocks from a reefer this afternoon. Won't be using the 2 biggest pieces. Happy to give the 2 pieces away by tomolo. If no response , I will give them to a LFS . Collection in Marine Parade.
  22. Haha, ya, that is Victor. This is my sump... this is the challenge that kept me awake at night. ------------------------------------------------------- And this is a overall tank shot, still v raw as I haven't done any rockscaping.
  23. Just got mine installed yesterday. Will put in more pictures when I am ready, now want to spend more time hunting down rocks to do up my rockscape. Tank maker will come again on Monday to do some touch ups to the tank. I want to thank Iwarna's Victor for his help to set this up. He is a wonderful fella!
  24. Got my tank installed today. Realised my rocks are insufficient. Anyone with rocks to give or sell. Please PM with your mobile asap. Thanks.
  25. This brings me to a next qn.... it looks possible that Rowaphos and other po4 removal medias are removing SRP and not that much of organic phosphates. Coz if it does we should probably get zero algae and none of us will ever keep the chaeto alive with Rowaphos FR running together. Correct or not? Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
