Tx guru Ang and Meng Yang for kind advise. Ok will bear that in mind. Feed sparingly. That means my other inhabitants have to go on diet also hor? The method of introducing them in a tray with lights off and releasing them in the dark works perfect. All 3 are now pecking the rocks minding their own business. Zero aggression. Yes. Got them from SL . Not that many YT and PT left. Btw i paid premium for the YT as its a hybrid. Colour is slightly lighter or more golden than usual. But when I bring it home under my lighting it looks more like dirty yellow. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

Just bought YT , PT and sailfin all at same time. Hope they can help in hair algae control. Keeping them in a floating tray now. Hope they like each other. Releasing them at 2359 later to book in to new camp. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

Just bought a YT, PT and a Sailfin all together @ same time. Intend to leave all 3 together in a basket floating on the tank with lights off. Will keep lights off for rest of today.... simulate dark clouds for my tank today... hehe. Then quietly release them tonite when its all dark. Wish me luck.

Haa, ya man... my prev tank is a RSM which didnt have a sump. With this tank, I ve a sump which I made full use of... There are ==> 2 FRs (RowaPhos + Biopellets) and ==> an effective refugium with 4 competing macroalgaes in there (chaeto, Jap grapes from JasonPoh, red macro and caulerpa). Currently the beast in the macro-algae war is the Jap grapes with caulerpa a close second. Both of them are creeping all over. Chaeto and red macroalgae not growing much in there, losing out.

Thank you. Am quite satisfied so far with the progress but its only 2 months since setup. Taking baby steps here. Some zoas not doing great... no thanks to some hair algaes sharing the same plug, preventing the zoas from opening or spreading. Tried manually removing the hairs but read in the forum pp using hydrogen peroxide... will perhaps try that... or any other methods to remove these troublesome hair algae?

If its black, then it is likely to be contaminated. I have a bottle with me for abt 2 yrs liao... still ok in the fridge and colour is dirty green. It shld also have a seal on the bottle opening. However, the way you describe the swiftness of the deaths, looks more like poison then plain Jane contamination.

Dr G's Anti-parasitic RX ... can get from Iwarna I have also used Kent Marine non copper additives and it works. Go to Ah Beng, I got mine from them... its 2 bottles of Kent Marine... RX-P and one more bottle i cant remember.

U need to buy the calibration liquid. PH10 and PH7. Then follow the instructions to adjust your monitor (think its a screw that you need to turn) to show the PH7 and 10 respectively.

No la. Dun think u should pour at same time. I think one is KH buffer... The other is calcium supplement. Uncle Thomas of AM say its best to dose them on alternate days. Ie. One day A. One day B. Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2

Are these minicarpet anemones? Nice lei... where to get them from?
-
No problem bro... Just that I pai seh I cant offer much as my chaetos growth are now retarded so whatever I give away i can't grow back. I have cyano bacteria ninjas appearing quite swiftly in my refugium which led me to a plan to erect a firewall. Hence, I decide to cut down the feedings (used to feed liberally) + I just installed biopellets FR in my sump.

Looks like cyano bacteria. Its challenging to treat. Think only 2 options ==> increase flow / increase efforts to reduce nutrients (if its serious enough, the fastest way is to change water as regularly as you can) The 3rd option is... use chemicals like Chemiclean etc. Think Madpetz selling it. That will be a last resort to prevent a dreaded crash due to cyano attack.

Just bought this Kent RXP too. Ah Beng told me they use this on their main tank to fight ich too, so I felt safe enough to buy a bottle.</p> My small blue tang has a few white spots emerging. Am trying to fight it now before it gets to other fishes.
