Based on par reading, seems that maxspect led far exceeds T5 tubes. Seems like a product worth trying!

3ft, the G2-180 sld be sufficient imo. For 4 footer, 2 sets of either G2-110 or G2-160 will be sufficent i hope. In any case its recommended to supplement with T5.

Any pictures of reefers using maxspect on their tanks? seems there's pretty positive feedback on the new G2. Waiting for stock to arrive.
