  3. haha.... thanks man.... hope you are having a blast in this hobby.... sales is negotiable and can sell separately (although i would prefer to sell it off as a set)
  4. as per above, selling my nano tank; 1. 2'L x 9"D x 1'H glass tank with black oyama backing; 2. 2' Aquazonic T5 light set ( 4 x 24w); 3. Redsea Prizm skimmer (no surface skimmer) looking at S$100 for the whole set. kindly pm me if interested. thanks. jon
  5. looking for above, need flat pieces if possible. thanks, jon
  6. nice pics..... what about photos you have shoot without strobes?
  7. seems like you got all the knowledge and help we can get here dude.... perhaps you can post pics of your dives and give us some comparisons for photos you took without strobes and photos you took with your strobes?
  8. i had a 1262 running my 1/2hp artica chiller as well from my previous set up with a fair distance of about 3m from the sump. what i did is from sump run the piping to chiller with the 1262 just about half a meter before the chiller and it works well for me. my whole idea was the 2.5m+ piping from sump becomes part of the sump so as to create little worries for the 1262 to push water to the chiller and out. and i think we are at the same dilemma now; im setting up my tank at the moment and planning to place the chiller outdoor as well with the rest of my office condenser. issue is when i asked the maintenance guy from artica if its possible to place the chiller outdoor he mentioned as long as it is not directly under the sun or rain its ok. anybody can advice?
  9. i would ditch G11 and G10 -- will still opt for the old G9 (if you could get second owned) and canon u/w casings are all good but i'd rely on ikelite casing still for a beginner entry; i've seen manufacturer casings failed too many times (including mine) and i won't let it happen again. strobes is a good companion for your rig if you want quality pictures and not just a blue hue.....
  10. i'd suggest just get one iwaki 100 pump; tee it off to run your protein skimmer and as return pump. I can't guarantee you that iwaki pump won't fail but chances are unlikely and you dont have to bother about having a reserve pump. keep your setup simple as the more complicated it gets the more chances you will run into problems.
  11. iwaki singapore's retail price is high; i've inquired about an md20 years ago which will cost me a few hundreds.... seen a bro selling his md55 online, you might wanna check it out. in my experience, when it comes to return and skimmer pumps, i'd go for something reliable -- iwaki or eheim..... i did ran my tank before when i was new in reefing with a less expensive return, it died out while i was away. flooded floor and dead livestocks, much more expensive than investing on reliable equipments.
  12. can't compare OR to Iwaki -- even water displacement of OR is rated higher, Iwaki will do better taking into account the head loss, pipe bends and such as iwaki pumps are pressure rated.
  13. i have one hopar 2ft lightset (2 tubes) bought a month back; used for a month then put it aside as i bought another set w 4 tubes from a reefer.... got it for $38, letting go at $30.
  14. thanks bro... just amateur shots..... using point n shoot camera, nikon p5600 w/ ikelite casing n inon d2000 single strobes. package was US$1,250 inclusive of 5d/5n accomodation, 2 dives/day w airtics included to and from Manila.

  18. thanks guys for keeping my thread alive, but this is meant as my sales thread; appreciate if you continue your discussions on another thread upz for my sales, i am trying to reply to all pms but an error occurs and prompting me that i can only reply to pms on aug 27... weird.... just to answer the queries; @giang -- this is a 0.5hp chiller (1/2hp) and i don't think it is practical for you to hook it on your nano tank. @eralus -- ca reactor is plug and play w ph controller, c02 tank, in take pump, this is the best price i can give you. @LLKW -- artica chiller is in good running condition -- changed the fan last year and just to remind, it is a 1/2hp commercial unit, not 1/5hp. Ive been running it for abt 2.5yrs any other queries pls contact me at 98464073.... thanks ---> jon

  20. been diving for years and tried a few shops in town.... i would suggest blue reef scuba -- while they are fun and friendly to go with, they have a sense of responsibility and safety is their main concern, that's the most important. welcome to the underworld.
