Looking For Cleaner Shrimps Or Wrasse
reefer guy replied to andez07's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
i also used to go to pasir ris farms, quite far and impractical if you dont see or buy things that you expect... there's this farm which sells hard corals (sorry dont know the name although i know how to get there) where i bought my cleaner shrimps early this year. the myanmar guy i used to talk to down there sold me cleaner shrimps, small size for $3 each... but lately i dont see him around, i think no longer working there(hope he didnt got sack coz of me )... 2 weeks ago i bought another pair from coral farm, for $7.60 each after discount... but it is way too far, no way to get there if u r not driving... pasir ris farms is still tolerable, try goin there late afternoon when its not that hot, walking back from the farms to the main road is manageable with a good companion, interesting talks and a pack of cigarette... -
now that's a crusader!!!! standing for what you believe and not threatened by any means..... whoever feels that day is the only guilty person around here cast the first stone on him..... i should say i am guilty as well, so wont be pointing fingers or naming people.....

reading through all these 'arguements' it has come to be more of a personal issue than a commercial issue... just put an end to such things... pb, i can see that you are losing your temper, whether its your principles that's driving you or its just that you are threatened for non-cites selling individuals that become a big competition for your shop, it's too unprofessional to name people and list all those 'unwelcomed' individuals in your shop. you can't simply threaten them just because they are buying from some individuals, they have the right to choose and decide themselves. IMO, reading such would give a negative impression towards you and your shop, not trying to side either of you but just respect each other's opinions and principles. this forum i believe is a meant to share information and educate everyone in the hobby, not start pinpointing people whom individuals believe are unrighteous. AT, i think this topic needs to be put to an end, the outcome is getting ugly and its not doing good for everyone, nor the very purpose of this forum..

agree..... one way or another, we are no exception in affecting the conservation and preservation of marine life, so let's not point fingers and pretend we are all morally upright...

a fellow reefer passed me a sales agent's contacts who also did his tank. i asked him to do my 4ft tank and this sump at the same time but regarding the price, i wish to decline how much it costs, not that i am profitting from it but it would be unfair for the guy if i release a price and he cannot do his business, but based on my business with him, he rather gave me a justified and fair price if not really considered inexpensive. if you are really interested, let me know and i will pm u his contact and u can deal with him directly.

well done diy!!! but tell me if im wrong, photo 4 shows the reflections on the wall, but seems to me that the reflection is casting different and uneven intensity of light reflections, moreover, there is a band of line u could observe which is due to the bending of the reflectors... asking the experts' opinions, does this really happen? is it this good?
-
hope this helps to make u understand better wat the hell i did.... hehehe... still waiting for comments and advises for improvement from the experts out there.... if u r interested, will pass u the dimensions, price is quite cheap coz i bundled it w my main tank, but heard from my guy its complicated.. hehehe
-
just to share, here's my sump i designed... works well, but i need comments from the experts to further enhance it.

**6mm tanks are usually meant for freshwater coz salt water due to its salinity content is heavier than freshwater** -

i believe its not about the lr or sand weight that will affect it, its about the volume of water. sand weight is distributed on the whole area of your tank base and lr are dead gravitational weight. your water on the other hand, exerts force on all sides of your tank. now the difference is its weight, 6mm tanks are usually meant for freshwater coz salt water due to its salinity content. -

glass tank for me as well, but even the base is just 6mm.. i'd rather advise you take the safest measure, use 8mm or thicker.... better safe than sorry, anyway, that'll just be a small $$ as compared to what u will lose if u use 6mm and it breaks.....
