actually, im using a macro skimmer as well, working well but unstable... sometimes water overflow from the red knob.... any ideas how to regulate this coz i have to check it from time to time

2 different fish bro... what we got in lck was brazilian, not royal....

...maybe an individual case get different results..... my sunnies were attracted to simply brine shrimps....

nice setup... but dont you think you have too heavy bioloads considering the size of your tank?

hi! im no female but was thinking of diving as well, open water course.... a fellow reefer whom i get to go out quite often knows a dive shop who gave quite a reasonable price... thing is, have to do it this month of october or wait til next year.... monsoon is coming in and the dive is in tioman

do u have any piic for the sump?

i believe your water volume is not enough.. happened to me before, not enough water in the sump that it emits small bubbles in the tank... i added more water in the main tank which made the overflow box skim more water thus filling in enough water to my sump....

how much and wer to collect?

yeah, will take note of that... my knowledge is totally not as good as your and will keep on reading more before shooting.... but tell me, u have noted well abt sps turning brown, then y not bother take note about the dying and unhealthy species??? i dont think i have to do alot of reading to realize what is unhealthy and dying or totally dead right? gee, didnt meant to step on u or anybody who supports their fave lfs, but just pointing out some fractions missed needs reflection before they start shooting on individuals....

hey bro, heard from one of our fellow reefers out here that a shop in serangoon north ave 1 (not an lfs) customizes canopies(acrylic finish)... not really sure of the size and exact place and full detail, but he told me the guy was charging him $36... maybe u wanna try n check it out.....

nobody said its easy to keep everything healthy in an lfs.... but just try to be realistic and import what you may think is just enough to sell... not enough? import again......not enough again???? another import would help..... got cites permit right? so no problem..... at least dont get too much stocks and in the end its another fateful act against mother nature.... not agains u bro... just my point of view....well, if i see that i cant handle my ls well, id rather give it up to someone who can handle it well ( and i swear if i have 1 such coral or fish i will let u know)... but in the first place, if i know i cant handle it well, i wouldnt have bought anyway..... that goes to each and everyone of us, lfs not exempted... hope we are responsible enough....

i reckon he should.... few weeks ago when i visit a shop, lots of nice acros, clorouful and healthy, newly shipped, i was really delighted in what i saw, and how i wish i could keep such..... a week later, i visited again and to my awe, some were sold but numerous were still available --> turned brown, dying, and really unhealthy.... all the magnificent colours that was once were gone.... so sad.... cites or non-cites, commercial or non-commercial, we are all responsible in the exploitation of mother nature.... saying "moderate exploitation" is a lame excuse... maybe you dont have cites permit, or maybe you have, but ask yourselves, are you capable of handling and caring for it as well? to me it looks like its much more of the commercial side where you "earn from the import so have to order a lot" and dont really care whether it will exceed the demand of the public..... as what the boss of one the longest and most experienced farms here told me, it takes time and experience and patience to sell sps, its not a joke to just keep importing and stocking it without the proper care..... he even told me that queeing for the stocks midnight is a foolish thing; as every reefers know, it takes a loooonnnnnggg patience to succeed in this hobby. no need to get the stock while its fresh, you may never know what you are getting... y not wait for it to settle down and be stable before you sell ior buy it?

i used bbq skewer (bamboo sticks) and simply pierced them....

it is a a sweetlip alrite... bought one for my colleague who likes it, after a few months gave it back to lfs, feasting on his smaller species....
