reefer guy

just wanna share my piece of equipment..not really considered as diy but rather a modification..... got this from a lighting supplier of mine foc..... 150w hqi de mh....... recently got a 10000k bulb from a fellow reefer ( thanks to u man, u know who u r!!!) but still lookin 4 another as u can notice it produces a rather yellow spectrum..... hope a fellow reefer can help!!!

bro, the way i see it, he doesnt need uv glass --> its a se mh and usually its de bulbs that need it..... i just did my de mh, not really a diy but did a bit of rewiring to lessen the weight of my pendants....

i can share the same sympathy w u sis..... sorry but u might consider this off topic.... 2 months ago i sold my canister filter to a fellow reefer who said he was broke and really in need of the canister, so i gave him the pity of selling it almost HALF the price.. just trying to lend a helping hand to our brethrens n sisters here.... a week later i saw him posting it for more than what i sold him and declaring he used it for just 6 months when i actually told him i used it for a year and a half!!!!! i dont mind him selling for a better price than i gave him since i just want to dispose of it, but i didnt expect him to lie about the product...... just hope that this forum is meant to help each other, fellow reefers, and not rip off money by misrepresentations......

i dont think its coral sand.. rather looks like marble/granite chips?

went to lfs at sago lane last thursday, saw 1 in a pathetic unhealthy tank so bought it.... somehow i pity the stocks there, alot of dead ls due to unhealthy system...

yeah.. seems like the devilish hairy crab.... i snagged 3 of those from my acros a month ago after i learned of its nasty polyp-eating habit.....

read in a marine book that its not recommended to keep --> wouldn't really survive long in captivity.... but a beautiful fish though, 'cousin' of the triggerfish...

thats based on my preferences.... u may check it out if u dont believe, its right across lau pasat, a graphics/printing company.. another would be in tg pagar rd which is almost equally pricing the same... i am in the graphics/animation profession so i am aware of the right pricing for a quality print.... if u can find better prices, that would be better... just trying to help out.....

yeah... love fishing but wen it comes to big game fishes, not worth it to kill, bring hone and eat... just take a shot then release... that's what i did for the sailfin i caught... such a pretty fish and took long years to grow then just kill it? -->not worth it

wat's the glass thickness of your tank? i recommend you go for sump rather than cannister..... true -- $500 is a bit low... be ready to spend a bit more especially from the start.... good luck buddy!!!

but a year ago when i went coral island t'was nice to snorkel... clear visibility w lots of corals n fish.... wer dya went, northern part or southern part? i went southern part, northern is quite crowded n open water diving ground....

bali snorkelling is not that fantastic.. charged US$55 for a boat and snorkelling gears, nvr even advised that visibility was poor and water too choppy to snorkel... anyway not much to see... phuket, take a boat ride to coral island and snorkelling is fantastic.. better yet phi phi island... the best!!! loved the beach and snorkelling down there.... was literally kicking damsels and parrot fishes and tangs when threading.. hehehe... at late afternoon can walk at phi phi don's coral reef --> low tide and you can stroll in kilometers of coral reefs surfacing....
