  1. good diy!!!! thanks for sharing the ideas but dya mind to share as well the shop names and locations where u source out all these... thanks!
  2. depends on what ls u r keeping... but bear in mind, mh in 2.5ft tank can cost u temp problems.....
  3. best thing to do is ask fellow reefers to harbour refuge to ur ls first til u solve ur water problem....
  4. thanks bro! i have been thinking of diy-ing my hood but dont know wer to get wood.. was hoping to get precut sizes so all i need to do is assmbly.... any idea wer? thanks!
  5. any idea wer to get practically priced quality wood for hoods that can withstand heat and salt?
  6. just bought it from a fellow reefer a few months ago... sorry but not selling as it is one of my favourites.. darn my galaxy coral, stung a tip of my cup... hope it recovers soon...
  7. i had the same case!!! there was this person who was looking for a cannister filter... i intend to post mine in the forum but pm him first if he's interested... i used it for more than 1 1/2 years and selling it at $70... he gave me all the lousy excuses such as he's broke, he bought liverocks and no more budget blah blah blah...... asking for $40... i compromised sold it for $50... a few weeks later, he was selling it for $60 and claiming it was just 6months old.... crap businessman.... i wouldnt mind him selling it at a higher price, but to misrepresent the product... darn.... y the hell people like this exists.....
  8. now thats a really healthy specimen u got there bro!!! plus a blur clownfish thinking it's an anemone.. hehehe.... mine is also on the sand right under mh plus tunze-produced currents...
  9. but terryansimon, his rocks really worth ur deal that time....seen it and its quality.... too bad u weren't able to grab it... errr... y not withdraw cash using ur credit card?
  10. i am a frequent user of ebay, from overflowboxes, to marine books, calcium reactor and recently an aquac ev p/s.... and it's really damn cheap to get things their whether new or 2nd hand... its a big risk for buyers, trusting the seller, paying them upfront before shipping. Guess i am quite lucky w my previous deals, but most of them try to put a good reputation.... usual things i do before i bid; 1. ask questions to seller... u'd get a hint from their response if they r courteous enough and trustworthy. 2. check his feedback... most are regular ebayers... if quite new and less deals or with lots of negative feedbacks, i drop the item no matter how cheap and how nice or how urgent i need it... 3. check the actual retail price of the item outside ebay.... u cant blame them if u have to pay higher than retail price; u bidded. usually i give an allowance of US$30 for shipping so i know how much roughly i can go through the bidding process.... .... and in the part of the bidder, dont bid unless u cant pay... hope this helps.....
  11. y dont u try to put it nearest to light source
  12. a few hours after i let it settle in my tank... its actually quite easy to acclimatize
  13. as long as there is good water circulation/current, not necessarily putting it right in from of pump
  14. mh on ur 2ft will surely boil water... but u mentioned u have bought it right? so how is it doing now anyway? are the polyps 'long and high up and waving' with the water current/flow?
  15. honestly speaking, its one of the hardest butterflies to keep just because its hard to make it eat... but once its acclimatize and feeding well, no problem at all.....
  16. correction: i meant hardy coral, not hard coral, if ever i made an error.... ambient temp is 26-27deg during normal days, if i swithc mh on during daytime reaches 28deg.. but my photoperiod is at nite; the only time i can enjoy my tank; so wen mh is on my aircon is on as well, drops up to 25deg.....
  17. im using 2 x 150w mh for my 4x2x2ft tank, without chiller or fans... temp is from 25deg to 28deg... the cup is dong good, its a hard coral. my colleague even have it and temp reaches 30deg. not telling u iyts acceptable though, but at the most, give them good living condition to be happy
  18. let it go bro... i got mine for $5 and its about the size of a cd.... good profit for u.... heheheh
  19. im interested but need to know exactly when and where are the lectures, pool dives and open water to be done... flubberina , u asked my contacts but nvr informed me about this
