  1. sori bro, not to make an arguement, but the fact that free floating bacterias, both good and bad, cant be isolated from each other. whether u place ur uv sterilizer in a strategic place wont matter, for as much as u may claim beneficial bacteria will less affected, u cant guarantee that bad bacteria will be likely killed as well.... just my opinion.....
  2. this is quite true.... but have to consider that uv sterilizers does not exempt anything, so chances of killing the beneficial bacterias/micro organisms is also high.....
  3. se mh -bulky -easier to diy -doesnt necessarily need glass to shield uv rays which are harmful to ls de mh -small - diy is not as easy not unless u use the same mounting -needs uv glass to protect ls from uv rays ......just my knowledge, any mistakes n corrections r welcomed.
  4. using 2 x 250w from viclite as well, took it off from the huge casing, rewire the gears so as to isolate the heat emmitted by the ballast... works good for me....
  5. the cam that i have been eyeing on lately.... good equipment!!!!!
  6. blasto.... damn, missed it.... any other stocks bro?
  7. my personal preference would be a minolta A1, but its more expensive. Next would be the Canon G5 but what's expensive is the underwater housing which i intend to invest on some time later if ever i buy a G5 myself. For me the fair buy would be the Olympus c5050. Try going to Allan Shop at Sim Lim Square, heard they have competitive prices and they might be able to give u better advice and informations than i can... cheers!
  8. err....sorry, wrong model, was talkin about c5050... anyway, dont have this cam yet, just advises from the pro and has a good review.... check this out.... http://www.clubsnap.org/display.php?file=a...c5050review.htm
  9. been eyeing on the G series as well, specifically the G5, seen its performance and its really good, especially for macroshots... but the other i considered is its underwater housing.... costs almost the dcam itself!!!! well, that is if u r planning to use it underwater as well u may want to consider the olympus c5060... reputable as well....
  10. .....first movie; Flatliners...... next movie ive known is 13th Warrior.......

  13. err.... sohal is damn nice, but i find it too large to be in ur tank as i know it really needs a lot of swimming space... maybe morgan can help u out very nice tank though!!!
  14. well, i guess the only way to make it perform to ur requirements is get the right pump with consideration to flowrate, length of pipings and nos. of bends/angles (as these greatly affect the pressure) and time u want the current to switch... as i have noticed using different pumps, the lower flowrate will tend to have lesser water pressure obviously and at the same time tend to switch alternately longer... whereas, higher flowrate pumps tend to make the water currents switch faster, sometimes too fast that it doesnt really help much as well... when i installed it in my tank, i directed one on the surface, and the other on the lower part of the tank, using a cr-4900 (3500l/h) and it served me well.... but since i got my tunze, i find it impractical to keep it now since im creating better current than before... anyway, i would recommend this as a practical way to direct current in different parts of the aquarium...
  15. check this website link for video.... http://www.3iqventures.com/buynow.html#
  16. hi jon, ur scwd got problem when u got it from me??? it was working properly when it was in my tank.. anyway, try to check if there are any debris, maybe sand /algea inside it... u may want to flush it out by switching ur pump off then on after a few seconds... let me know how i can help, i hope u wouldnt suspect i sold u a spoiled item as it was working perfectly fine for me all the while....
