  1. Hrmz, read that you'll need an established tank with lots of LRs for the mandarin to florish. Mine swims around the LRs looking for food among rock crevices.
  2. Erm, cant really see anything from your pic...its abit too dark. Maybe you could post a pic with your tank lights on or something?
  3. http://reef.web-genesis.net/ Oh, dunno how updated this is but hope it helps...
  4. Hrmz, you are down on your luck. Did they display pictures f the food at their stall? Maybe u could have pointed out that it looks different. Kind of reminded me about one of my worst meal....a piece of steak which was so uncooked that had too much blood. Yucks....never ordered steak from that restaurent again.
  5. I presume you are doing an overflow compartment in your tank, why not use glass instead. Its much stronger than acrylic.
  6. Erm, im running a CL450 and the heat is really not that bad as some people make it out to be, as long as its not inside an enclosed room with no ventilation, you'll hardly notice the heat unless you are standing right beside the chiller. And short of feeling the chiller outlet, the heat is very bearable. You are going to use a T5 and the chiller wont even be running that often if you get one. Ice packs in a styrofoam box with water running just doesnt sound safe to me. MAybe im being paranoid...
  7. Hrmz, do mushrooms need alot of light? I left mine under a shaded area and its not doing so well...
  8. Hrmz, wanted to get a flame angel but worried they might nip at my LPS, can PM me the current market for one please?
  9. ROWAphos...anyway, nice tank!~
  10. Erm, can you post a pic under "white" light pls?
  11. I dont think any kind of metal is safe...guess they'll corrode sooner or later releasing harmful substances into your tank....
  12. I bought the ROAWsponge @ Harlequin.... Maybe some other shops have them too...can call them and check... Anyway, cool looking tank i love the colour!
  13. When did you put them in? It takes a while before they get used and relax. Shouldnt stay like this for long though...
  14. Turtle weeds requires alot of lighting and good flow. Not sure if any LS will feed on them, don't dare to try....
  15. If the difference is NOT TOO big, use the bigger size hose and clamp it to the input port...
  16. Maybe you can add rowa to control your algae too. I got got this filter pad from a LFS today. ROWAphos Sponge. Comes in 5s and cost around $30. Its a new product and its supposed to combine the effects of both ROWAphos n ROWAcarbon in one pad. Size of pad is around 10cm x 10cm x 1cm. Might be useful for a HOF.
  17. Oh yeah, they have nice LRs....some large pieces. All neatly arranged by size.... Got myself an ABT today, will post up pcs once my camera rtns from bintan....
  18. Harlequin is currently undergoing renovations which should be done in about 2 months. They still have some nice corals left though, and lots of pratas. PSsSt, go down, you might get a good deal. SL has lots of brazillian grammas, S and M size ABT, S M and L yellow tangs, Blue eye anthias, 1 XL back tang...the rest common fishes.
  19. yupz...think the offer is still on. For S sized cleaners only though...giv them a call before going, the last time i passed by, they still have heaps...
  20. Hrmz, i just went there today and all i saw were brazillian grammas? Maybe i wasnt paying attention...
  21. No problem...glad you got what u are looking for...
  22. Erm, the LFS said for the marine snow around twice a week would be enough. If u wan to be sure your corals get the food, you ca try target feeding...for liquid food, u can use a syringe to spray it over the coral...
  23. Some people feed bits of market prawn to their anemones, maybe frozen brine/mysis shrimps will do too. Im dosing Coral Food and marine snow for my corals once a while. Dun have to do it too often as corals can get their food from your fishes' leftover and stuff in the water column. Oh, u can try feeding cyclopeeze too. BTw, anemones need strong lighting!
  24. Erm, if your current is too strong, try reducing your circulation during feeding. Alternately u can use a cut off mineral water bottle to cover the coral you are feeding, the food stays withinn the vicinity of the cut bottle and your corals wont face competition from your fish for food. Oh, both fishes and corals take cyclopeeze.
