  1. Erm, where did you place your gonio? Right on top? Maybe you can try place it in the direction of a powerhead, might help. My red gonio refused to open up nicely till i put it at a place wheres there moderate current flow. GD luck!
  2. LoL....haha, i think alot of people are members of both the forums....alot of "senior reefers" there though...
  3. Lol...yeah, fd this forum pretty dead at times....i think there are lots of people starting on the marine hobby, just that they don't post much here.
  4. Epoxy can be used to join 2 Lrs together(small pieces), for securing SPS and some other corals to your LRs too. Just got 1 tube today, hope it works...
  5. Ermz, im very curious as to what you are running in your cannister filter. Do you use carbon or rowa?
  6. From the pics...i think the mushroom have already started dying...from the mouth area...any more experience reefers can advice?
  7. Ah beng's side has some small lionfishes for sale if im not wrong...
  8. Mushrooms do better in low flow areas if im not mistaken...
  9. Ah beng, they were unloading corals into the tanks when i went there around 4 pm. They still have a few flame angels left. Lots of S size yellow tangs and all the other normal fishes. Reef n nature, S, M sized ABTs spotted. M, L PTs, purple queens S M.
  10. Erm, even if using NSW still need to cycle right?
  11. Erm, BT are normally very greedy fellas and they might take a while to get use to new food. Oh, try not to fllod your whole tank with food to see if they'll eat. Your nitrates will shoot up...
  12. Clowns will host in alot of LPS, or they might not at all and just keep swimming aroung your tank. The point is anemones are totally unnecessary....and even if you dont have LPS, i don't think it'll matter too.
  13. Erm, cant help but noticed that you started your tank on the 14th, and you added LS just 2 days later?
  14. Erm, AM has some nice LRs the last time i visited, CF too. I dun think there'll be any problem for you to find just a single piece that suits your tank. AM and Petmart carries the redsea skimmer.... It'll costs around 200 or 300+ for a new 1 i think.
  15. You'll be the 1st person to keep only damsels in a 4FT! Haha, anyway, i think a tank with LRs will look much nicer....im sure you don't want your 4FT tank to look like those in the LFS. It wouldnt do justice to the 4FT, well, to each his own. Oh, if you ever decide to get LRs, try do it before you add any fishes, the cycle will restart again. And 1 word of advice, it'll be nearly impossible to catch the damsels if you have LRs, add them with caution. They are agressive fishes. Have fun, post up some pictures soon yeah?
  16. SallyLightFoots will clean up the algae off your LRs and scavage the sandbed for leftover foods. But some reefers warn that they might attack small fishes. Hermits and prawns are scavagers too, as in they pick up whatever that is left uneaten on the sandbed, but beware some hermits are not reefsafe. A sea cucumber would clean up your sandbed too....provided it is big enough
  17. Erm, that seldom happens to my new LS, what kind of fish do you normally buy and gets killed? Maybe you could list out what your current LS are and what normally gets killed when you introduce them to the tank.
  18. It is normal for BTs to hide and squeeze into a crevice either when they feel threatened or when they want to sleep...
  19. Erm, better not take the risk if you are not sure. By the way, may i know why do you need to use metal in your tank?
  20. Thats what i thought so too so didnt get a hood....ah well, not destined to keep it...
  21. Hi there!~ The royal/bi-colour dottyback is definately not shy! Haha, it doesnt bother your other LS?
  22. Almost all LFS will carry the flamehawk...its not a rare fish, just wait for the right shipment!~
  23. Hrmz, the rockscaping looks pretty nice and natural. But i dont see any of your CORALS!?
  24. Erm, does your skimmer come with an instruction booklet? I think tehy'll proberbly mention something about your problem in there...
