  1. Haha, thanks godzilla....good to see you are revamping your tank, carry on the good work! Latest Update: One of my newly aquired frogsppawn's head just melted. Found some brown substances hovering around it. It was perfectly fine the previous day....could it have been too close to my prata which stung it causing it to die off? Btw, i've already cut off the dying head, worried that it'll affect the rest of the coral....
  2. haha...cool. My wife likes anemones too but due to some bad experiences, i decided to stay off them forever.... Take a close up of the anemone and the clowns hosting in them when you are free yeah....
  3. Cool....nice attitude you have there. Anyway, just a word of caution, i seriously do not think your lights are strong enough for anemones....keep a close eye on it and make sure it doesn't shifts and covers up your water outlet/inlet.
  4. Erm, whats a GBTA? Anyway, no matter what is said about your tank, how impractical it is, paranomic tanks like your always appeal to me in some way. Love the simple and clean look. Did i see "Change water every 3 months"? And at that, only 10%????
  5. Hehe...i like the overall look of your tank....looks really cool...
  6. AM....AT no stock left... Any one saw any small AT around? Abt 2 In
  7. Taken from LiveAquaria: It requires the minimum of a 30 gallon tank with lots of hiding places and live rock for grazing. The Flame Angelfish is prone to nip at stony and soft corals (sessile invertebrates) and clam mantles. If the Flame Angelfish is to be added to a peaceful community, it should be the last fish introduced. They adapt well to aquarium life, but should be kept in an established system and housed with dissimilar genera. Flame Angels are very sensitive to elevated levels of copper, and should never be exposed to levels near or above .15. They might nip on corals but many reefers here have been successful in keeping them with corals...i'll say its 50/50. Anyway, lots of questions have been aske dabout this....try do a search. Im sure you'll find something. For myself, i don't dare to set 1 free in my tank....
  8. Hrmz, your MH looks really blueish.....pics are with atanics only?
  9. Hrmz, sometimes you'll have to experience abit...but pratas do not enjoy a strong current blowing against them constantly.
  10. Hrmz, kinda hard to answer this but i guess some stuff should still be alove in the LRs. Any Beneficial bacteria would proberbly have died off though after 4 days out of the water. That isnt really a big problem, if you like the shape of the Lrs and the general appearance, eg, presence of coralline algae, you can still get them. Beneficial bacteria will multiply again during your ANN cycle. Afterall, some reefers practically "kill" their rocks before they use it for their tank. Btw, $8 a kg? Whats the market rate for figi rocks outside?
  11. Oh okayz...meanwhile....maybe you can use your test kit, get a measurement and calibrate your test pen according to that reading. Not very pro....but then at least it'll be more "accurate" than it is now.
  12. Well, just leave it alone and im sure your nitrate level will drop after your beneficial bacteria multiplies. Do you have any live rocks in your tank btw? Oh, i was adviced to do water changes during cycling to lower the nitrate level, not sure if that'll interfere with the ANN cycle, any more experienced reefers can comment?
  13. I used the 5 in 1 coral food and switched to marinesnow recently. Most corals do not have to be directly fed....they'll absorb most of what they need from the water when you feed and so on. Does some coral food once a while and they'll be perfectly fine...
  14. Think you should get them to calibrate it for you. The test pen doesnt come with calibrating fluid?
  15. Erm, since you mentioned your nitrate is ok, why dump in the Algone? A 4G tank is really small so you'll really have to take care what you put/dose into the tank, just abit of mistake will be deadly. Btw, whats Algone for? Is it like carbon? Some media has to be rinsed before putting them into your water.....
  16. He bought a LR..... I have a hairy crab and a pistol shrimp somewhere in my tank, cant get them out though....
  17. Dun see anything really wrong with your corals.... Except your SPS looks totally bleached....
  18. AM, x3 1cm BTs left....2 Sohals, couple of algae blennies and the usual gobies. Couple of really small and cute frogfishes though....
  19. Behind the fish? Not really sure but think its called star polyps....they are pretty easy and if the conditions are right, will spread quite fast..... From LiveAquaria Accurately described as an encrusting coral, Starburst Polyps rapidly grow over adjacent rock work, coral, or even the glass of an established reef aquarium. They are a peaceful coral armed with the defensive capability of being able to retract or deflate each of their polyps in response to predation. They will not harm other corals that are placed close to their colony, but are susceptible to being damaged by any aggressive corals in the reef aquarium. They are easy to maintain in the reef aquarium and make an excellent candidate for the beginning through expert reef aquarist. They require a medium to high light level combined with a medium to strong water movement within the aquarium. For continued good health, they will also require the addition of iodine and other trace elements to the water. Mine are the cheap ones, some reefers have those super greenish ones....*dRooLs*
  20. Sry, have no idea how much its gonna cost you....im pretty interested in diy-ing a moonlight too, maybe you can share your methods after you are done with it....
  21. Hrmz, i do not think crabs have a taste of mushrooms...were they stressed out? If so, they might have detached themselves. Having a strong current blowing on them constantly will cause them to detach too.
