Im using an 820 for my 3.3ft.....had comments from reefers that the flowrate isnt sufficient...think some reefers are even using the 820 for their 2ft. I find my flow alright, doesnt stir up my grade 0 sand at all.

I do not think you can get everything you want under 2k. No idea how much the individual items costs as im using all low tech stuff....

Hrmz, if stuff are really that expensive here, i do not think most of us will be here in the 1st place. Im sure i won't if a shrimp costs $150. In my opinion, high prices will not do much good. High prices will only prevent common people out there like me from ever stepping into the hobby and learning about it. Im sure the responsible reefers out here outnumbers the irresponsible. I rather the prices are kept as theyare now. If sacrificing some fishes and corals to the irresponsible reefers bacause of low prices means more people can enjoy the hobby, i do not see why not. Im not a saint. I will not cry and go sleepless because some fishes die inthe hands of someone else. Prices are high enough as it is, im sure lots of us have spent alot in the hobby already. Ever skipped meals and skimp and save to get a piece of equipment or LS? Im sure lots of us have the experience....just my 2 cents....cheers! Reef on! I LOVE this hobby!

I presume your pump is inside your cabinet. Not restricting the flow might help....is your cabinet fully enclosed and your chiller running very often? That might cause the pump to be hot too....

Negative...regular water parameter checks are recommanded and if you are lazy, at least every fortnight. Even during the cycling stage, u'll need to test for 3 parameters, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. Have to admit im lazy, but i'll still do the basic checks, checks like PH, KH, Nitrate and calcium. Its troublesome but at least you'll know your LS is in a safe enviroment.

Hrmz, its not really a waste of money...i think you'll spend even more topping up lost LS if your water parameters are out. At least get a nitrate test kit....

Erm, dunno what brand the pellets....bought it together with my 1st tank and LS. Where do you stay? If nearby i can spare you some.... I find omega 1 and 2 pellets too big for most of my fishes...

We cant really tell you how many days or even weeks to wait before its safe to add in LS. Do a water parameter test and if ammonia and nitrites are undetectable, and the nitrate is low enough, you can start to stock up slowly...

Mine died of slowly one by one.....all 5 dead within the period of 2 months. I've never seen thm feed before too....ZzZZz. SO unlike teh blue-eyes...started feeding the 1st day. PQ are one of the hardest anthias to keep in my opinion...

Mine is still going strong...had it for around 4 months, guess i was lucky and got it to feed on brine shrimps and small tiny pellets....

Heyhey, so fast got so many corals already.... Nice tank.....if u succeed with the blur seafan, give me some tips....tried once and failed....really love the colours though...
