  1. Erm, you might be stressing it even more putting it in a tank like that, maybe u can try get a suitable piece of pvc piping that your tang will fit into and put it in your QT. It'll give him some place to hide and rest. Like wil mentioned, if its feeding, than it should recover. But please put in some form of water circulation in the tank, the fish will die from lack of oxygen before it dies from stress. Good luck!
  2. Hrmz, hopefully....hehe. Would love to see that happen. Btw, any idea if percs will change colour with age? Like become more black or something?
  3. Erm, did you refridgerate the marine snow? Its suppose to be refridgerated after opening.
  4. Yoz....nice rockscaping with lots of place for corals...definately much nicer than your old one. Keep up the good work!
  5. ZzZZzzZz...which LFS gave you this type of advice.... U'll still need to cycle when using NSW, just that it'll be faster than using salt mix. The minimum test kits you should have are the PH, KH and Nitrate test kits.
  6. Erm, Salifert test kits are recommended by alot of reefers. Anyway, just curious, do you have any kind of test kits currently and did you cycle your tank before adding in any LS?
  7. Stuff like how big your tank is. How many LS do you have in there. What kind of equipment you are using. Your water parameters and stuff like that.
  8. Hrmz, the bigger perc's tummy is still as bloated as yesterday this morning. Any chances that its pregnant? Will they exhibit any symptons if they are?
  9. Hrmz, how many LS do you have in your tank? Are you feeding alot? Overstocking your tank or excessive feeding might cause a nitrate spike. Try remove dead fishes as soon as possible so they'll decompose and foul up your water. And as Tanga mentioned, please provide some details of your tank so its easier for us....
  10. Heyhey! Hows your rescaping going? Anyway, dun worry about leaning Lrs on your walls if you have to. As long as the full weight of the rock is not against the wall, it should hold. U might want to leave a gap on the front and 2 sides of the tank to facilitate easy access for cleaning though...
  11. Saw those electric flame scallops in some LFs before and was pretty fascinated by them. Especially by their blue electirc zaps. Was wondering though, will it clamp down and eat your small fishes?
  12. Erm, i think 28 is ok but it shouldnt go any higher than that. 1 thing though, i wonder if 4 to 6 hrs of T5 lighting is gonna be enough for the corals...can any more experience reefers help? Oh, if im not wrong, SG will get much warmer somewhere in the middle of the year and your water temperature might go up.

  14. Erm, sometimes it depends on how warm the area which your tank is situated in. Some reefers can get a 28 or 29 degrees w/o the use of any fan or chiller while others' will shoot above 30. Really depends on how warm your room is. Alot of reefers use a fan to bring the temp down.
  15. Ah well, do you have any other tank mates which might be scaring him? I guess as long as hes eating, it should be alright. Just give it a while...
  16. They hide in the crevices and rocks when they feel threatened. Next time drop the food ina nd stay at a distance. They should come out, its the fattest fish in my tank....
  17. NICE! Very nice and natural feeling about your tank......any full tank shots?
  18. Or everything has died off already.....also no smell? Anyway, maybe i know how many kg of LRs are there in the tub pls?
  19. Hrmz, my hammer is hosting my percs...and luckily it doesnt seem stressed by thier movement around it. What kind of other corals do you have in your tank?
  20. LRs on glass walls shouldn't be much of a problem as long as they are not using the glass panel to support its full wt. For me its quite difficult to scape w/o at least abit of the rocks touching the glass. As long as the pressure is not excessive, i guess its alright. But with some proper planning and trial and error, i believe its possible to scape w/o having to use the glass to support your LRs.
  21. Hrmz, hang on types fishtank are normally very short and narrow....seen something like that in TM. At most 5FT x 1Ft x 1Ft....i guess
  22. Nah, my hammers are v small...smaller than an inch for the luminious green tipped ones...will get lost among the rocks ah.... Thanks for the advices anyway...
