hrmz, guess ###### shrimps are around the size you see at the LFs, wont grow by much...

I gave up owning a flame angel, worried by the fact that it might nip on my corals. Well, some things just won't coexsist together, its either this or that...
-
Haha, sure thing....i'll try frag a piece for you when the thing spreads. Oh, golden octo has some really brillant green coloured star polyps...much greener than mine, but pretty expensive i think...

Hrmz, i have no idea what happened. Do you have anything LS/Inverts with sharp clwas or spikes in there? My smaller bubble totally collapses sometimes leaving just abit of skin visible on the skeleton...have no idea why it does that but it always go back to full bloom pretty fast. The new bubble looks more translucent than the smaller one. Caught my eye immediately. Luckily i found a spot for it in my small tank. Hehe, the shop had a close to 1 foot cateye bubble too, no more space in tank!! Hope the reefing passion continues to burn in me....a enw tank in 2 years' time!!

The tank looks familiar! Anyway, must say your tank looks much nicer that it was before. Keep it up! Take a full tank shot with the corals opened up sometime yah?

Wow, those prices are ...... Anyway, i love your greenish zoos.
-
I LOVE hammers! They are hardy and some are really nice, comes in different shades of colours...get those branching types...i think they look nicer, just my personnal perference...

Haha, trying to advertise your thread! I love the colours of the turtle weed to, so greenish and the way it sways with the current....
-
Hrmz, i tried once and it didnt survive after blooming superbly for a few days....maybe i placed it in a nad position. It requires very string flow to bring it food. Not sure about lighting requirements though.

New Bie on board, pls advise!

Dont worry about the small crab, things die now and then and if your LS and corals are doing well, i guess you shouldnt be worried. Not much problems with nitrate buildup too since its a small one. -
OT : who can help to transport a 4ft tank ?
Qxnviolet replied to chercm's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
LoL...the tank has to be disassembled and re-assembled at your place. Theyll prob break something if they try to transport the tank in 1 whole piece..... -

AM doesnt have much selection of corals left when i went there on sunday... -
Thanks....i love those 2 bubbles too. Got that 2nd larger piece even though its abit too large for my tank. Proberbly around 1 feet when fully expanded. You've tried bubbles before? They are quite easy as compared to harder coras like cynarinna. What happened to yours? I really have no idea if blue eyes are compatible with dispars ornot. Sorry, only have blue eyes in my tank. I really like them. Much more than the purple queens i had.

Hrmz, this is my 2nd try at a frogspawn. The 1st died mysteriously after i added in some hammers which i suspect were diseased. Within 2 days, my true octo and frogspawn melted. Sianz 1/2. Was pretty worried when one of the heads of my new frogspawn showed signs of melting and when i came back at night and saw a layer of brown stuff hovering about the melting head, i immediately proceeded to cut the whole head off. Prob saved the other parts of the coral. Read about the dreaded brown jelly disease somewhere before...i wonder if thats what killed my corals.

Hrmz, i guess you should just leave it alone and not try to do anything that will stress it out further. And oh, please do not flood your tank with food in trying to get it to eat. If it doesnt want to eat, it wont matter if you drop 1 pellet or flood the whole tank with food. It won't. You'll only get excess nitrate build up from all the excess food. Maybe you can get one of those small pvc pipes and put it in the betta box. Gives your tiny tang some place to hide and maybe it won't feel so scared then. Good luck...i was really tempted to get some of these mini BT, but they'll prob get eaten up in my tank...

Thats suprising, the blue tang is supposingly one of the most easy going tangs around. Well, nothing that can be done except monitor them and see if the aggressiveness will die down ornot. Is your blue tang super aggressive torwards the yellow? If it is, monitor the yellow tang closely, if if gets too stressed...get it out! Gd luck!

Tried live brine shrimps? Recommanded food for newly aquired fishes...

Doubt your external pump can create the necessary flow in your tank. Since your cyn is showing signs of recovering, maybe you should just leave everything alone as they are and monitor things for a few days....

Togetherness! All 4 of them together....they grown more daring and are off to explore their new surroundings now. Cleaner Warrase checking them out... Had this cleaner wrasse for close to 6 mths now...hard to find specimens that feed so readily...
-
Got these specimens at AM...had 5, 1 died in QT the next day....but the other 4 are very healthy and greedy fellas...started feeding almost immediately in the QT.
-
Blue eyes....transferred into my display tank after quarrantine. They are much easier to keep than Purple Queens.....i never succeeded with the queens.... You can see the dying/melting off head of my frogspawn there....
