Hrmz, I-Aquarium's showtank has been running on just atanic for god knows how long and all the corals are doing well.....mine will proberly die if i do that.

Maybe we can all catch some and sell it to them....

Gosh...im sorry for your lost. Its the hot season now and temperatures can go up by quite abit. Do you have alot of pumps/powerheads running in your sump/tank? All these gives out heat which will raise your tank temperature. Hrmz, for your temporary fish housing containers, make sure you have an air stone running to provide some form of circulation within the container. As for changing anything, i guess you shouldn't panic so much, how big is your tank? And if you have a powerful skimmer, the "pollutants" released by your melted corals wouldn't caused much of a problem. Still, a partial water change wouldn't do any harm. If you are worried, do a bigger one. Hrmz....things like that happens and there were a few times i wanted to give up too. But im sure the hobby has given you alot of joy for the past 3 years and to give up because of a crash after you've accumulated all the experience is a waste. Get your chiller repaired and since your tank is fishless and has no corals, why not take a chance to do a rescape...after you get your chiller running again, it'll look like a new tank! Good luck! Oh, just came to my mind...maybe we should all standby fans to cool the water if the chiller fails.

Haha, not everyone is as generous as you ma... But bro xersion, try contact the person you got your chiller from. If i sold a reefer something that spoils within a week, i'll proberbly feed so bad that i'll offer a full refund. Anyway, has Derek replied?

Hrmz, your water parameters seems pretty decent to me though, but yeah, let the tank run for a while before you add new LS. Do some testing after a week or two, if your water parameters are stable, can try some hardy corals like zoos first. Some reefers fill their tank with inverts before LS. Hrmz, imo....dosing bacteria in the tank after every water change is not necessary....unless your tank is new, or if you have new bacteria housing media, it wouldn't make much of a difference since most of your LR and bact housing will have been filled up anyway. Just my personnal opinion.

Erm, they might make a meal out of your clowns. IMO, its better to have a covered tank if you want to keep an eel. Saw 1 escape from AM's tank before....the smell caught me before i saw it. I was pretty gross....the smell i mean...

Erm, what actually happened? Did you buy it off a reefer? Maybe you can check with him if it's been working before he sold it to you....a more generous reefer might offer to refund you, afterall...you haven't even started to use it.

LoL....easy to catch? Thats sure makes it better. IMO, my boxfish is the easiest to catch, use cup also can. Tried for a month to catch my YT but failed though, Oh, clowns are an easy catch too.

Hrmz, yes they did hide when i 1st introduced them to the tank. Now after a month, they disappear only around 10pm at night....is yours hiding? Give it some time to get used to your tank and it'll be super daring.
