  1. cool! i got special mention.. hur hur..
  2. bro... not to pour cold water but you should read up before you purchase.. 1. Not easy to keep different species of clowns.. let alone in a small tank.. high chance one will KO 2. Damsels are quite territorial to every other fish.. to have it in a small tank like yours can be quite a disaster 3. the butterfly fish is not a butterfly fish but rather a sailfin tang 4. what anemone is it? what is it's requirements? Anemones nuke the tank when they die.. did you take it out after it died? did you change water? 5. The coral you have is gonio.. its not the easiest coral to keep..
  3. 1) Is my fitration sufficient, not sure workable or not? I read from the forum, thinking to get a biohome. The filtration for 24G is always insufficient.. unless you are able to connect it to a sump.. would suggest you to do weekly or bi weekly water change 2) Only one pump in my whole system, is this correct? most of the time you can only fit one pump.. 3) Is Eheim 600 powerful enough? Or Eheim 1000 better? Because the pump need to pump the water to chiller and then from chiller to the tank again. your ehiem is insufficient.. try Rio.. there is one pump with the highest flow rate of pumps that can fit to the last compartment 4) Going to cycle the tank soon, thinking to use 40% NSW water & 60% mixed salt water, is this alright? its your choice.. this is a case of the chicken or egg first.. some would recommend NSW, others would recommend saltmix.. 5) One wavemaker enough? do i need to get another one? I'm using 2 wavemakers and IMHo still insufficient.. 6) No skimmer at this moment, people told me small tank not necessary, just change water weekly. Any other suggestion? or i need to get a skimmer? As long as you are deligent enough.. skimmerless is fine.. if you intend to get.. get the tunze 9002 which fits into the middle compartment after modification to the collection cup.. 7) Do i need to modify the light, or just keep it original? depends on what you wanna keep bro.. fish only? stock lights are more then enough... if corals, i would recc you to change..

  10. this is a big no no.. do not collect water from the seaside and put into your tank.. it's not filtered and would pollute your tank...
  11. you guys are horrible... TS asking for help but none of you are helping! Well, iori_del dun you wish you can see your fishes swimming in the aquarium and the corals sway with the flow of the water? Cost of setting up at reef tank = $5,000 Cost of monthly utility bills = $150 Having part of the ocean in your room = Priceless Welcome back!
  12. you can always go for 2nd hand in pasar malam.. =]
  13. thanks! Hey TS.. Sorry to OT the thread.. =P
  14. hahah.. i'm in NY.. so its day time for me here...
  15. wait till you hear from those who SWEAR by Deltec.. i think reef octo is good as well.. =] well the balloon stick is just one of the few methods reefers can try to save $$ so far i know of afew reefers who appreciate it and a couple who doesnt.. hahah.. its your call dude! =]
  16. Sure.. no worries.. i'm surprise that the gurus in the forum have not spoken yet! haha.. I'm not saying Dymax is bad.. just that i'm sure of some other brans which are definately better.. such as deltec?! as long as the skimmer is able to churn out nice and thick skimmate, even a no brander would be good as well... if you're not to sure about the performance just do a higher % of water change everytime. I would recommend water change AT LEAST every 2 weeks... Pref every week! as far as i know, moon light doesnt really do much but its just makes the tank nice to look at.. haha.. as long as the lights are blue and not too strong any light can be moon light.. i would recommend LED though.. you can go on to ebay and look for moon light.. actually i may have one lying around at home. can sell it to you if you want..
  17. what you have is good enough! You have all the basics already! i would recommend you to upgrade your skimmer though.. take you time and save till you can afford to go for a better skimmer.. its one of the most important equiptment to have.. also adding moonlight will be nice to the eyes too! =]
  18. nice scaping.. i like the top part alot.. but i think the bottom of the scape is too steep to place any corals.. its kinda like the "void deck" theory which i told Wilson about.. you may like to relook into the bottom half scaping? just my 2 cents worth as you will not want to rescape again when ur fishes and corals are in.. it'll be hell!!! unless you are like jackywongto.. hahhaa
  19. since you've used 2 big prawn and one of them has already decomposed, i think you can remove the other one.. =] great scaping too! but i would leave more space at the bottom to see more sandbed and also to allow more space for corals which requires to be placed on the sandbed or for lower lightings.. mind sharing your equiptments?
  20. try to go to those tropical fish shops like those in Pasir Ris farm or Clementi... theres a huge slection of elbows most of the time.. glad you managed to "convince" your mum!
  21. Great Job.. This is going to be one fantastic Nano... Keep the pics coming!
  22. i may be wrong.. but from what i know each individual head = individual coral.. (the only one i know that doesnt apply is gonio) somtimes 1 head may have 2 mouth but it is still considered 1 individual animal (which may slowly split into 2 or more) so to ans ur quest... blasto and ducans are the same.. 1 head = 1 individual... you should be feeding both heads.. hope you understand what i mean and hope this helps! Cheers, Ray
