  1. nice photography!!!!! you managed to capture all the details in 1 pic! awesome tank too!
  2. red slime bro... do read up here.. good luck!
  3. If the seller was genuine in the first place would there be such "unnecessary" chit chat? look at all other thread on Pasar Malam.. Not many people would say much no? Unless you consider remarks like "Ups", "Bumps", and "nice corals bro" to be unnecessary and non constructive too? IMHO all the reefers here are here to learn and share the experience as well as frags/fishes which they have found.. if everthing has to be pegged to such rigid rules and environment i wouldnt be such a nice "family" feeling in this forum anymore.. just my 2cents worth..
  4. you should remove your bio balls.. they are nitrate factories.. also, please clean your canister frequently as if you do not do anything, it would be a MEGA nitrate factory!
  5. No worries about asking questions bro... if i can help i will... afterall isnt this what the forum is suppose to be in the first place? To help and to share ideas... just as long you do not make mistakes when everyone advise you not to... (please do not take reference of this to your choice of RSM130.. It really is your choice! What im referring to is buying fishes without cycling.. have 10 medium fishes in a small nano tank , etc.. )
  6. erm... 3 bottles for $1 plus.. i change 10% every 2 weeks so math below... Tank Vol = 90L Water change = 10% = 9L 1.5L of distilled water bottles needed = 6 bottles therefore.. i spend about 6-8 dollars a month? for your tank size with bi weekly water change.. i do suggest at least 10 bottles... thats why go for the water dispenser thingy..
  7. Bro.. if RO/DI cannot, you would best use distilled water.. my tank is a 24G.. about 1/2 the size of your tank? i buy distilled water from NTUC in a carton.. easier to stall.. else you can try using those water dispenser kind of big gallon thingy.. cant remember what it is called.. lol
  8. haha.. good luck on finding the culprit bro!
  9. time for you to stay up late and observe the tank.. have you tried using a torch light to see your tank at night? if not, try it! its super interesting! =]
  10. dun think mantis would be capable of that.. im ruling out turbo snails too as they would not leave it till at night to topple your suncoral.. lol
  11. agree with desi.. the crab will wonder around your tank at night to look for food.. so might be a hairy crab?
  12. yeah.. i replied that too.. i do not recommend over-night tap water.. what i do is to use distilled water.. thats one of the choices.. =]
  13. hope this would help bro.. Please do read up yeah? http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/forum/6-new-to-the-marine-aquaria-hobby/
  14. bro.. thats wayyyy too many fishes for your tank.. 11 fishes and 2 shrimps? i hope you have done your reading on the links ive provided... well for test kits.. get the basic ones.. i highly recommend Nitrate especially for your level of stocking...
  15. bro.. RO/DI have nothing to do with your tank.. basically you should go for it if you have the $ and space for it.. unless you have a super nano tank..
  16. well.. people have different ways to control that and many of us do trial and error before deciding which is best for us.. there are many methods to control nitrate and phosphate.. water change is one of them too.. as long as your husbandry is good you should be on the safe side.. i would vote for algae scrubber as that is the most natural way of removing high nutrients.. just my 2cents!
  17. maybe you can use a small cooling fan? down side is that you need more regular water topup.. else water parameters will swing... esp in a nano!
  18. given the size of your tank.. do remember to buy small frags of corals.. do not buy anything bigger than a fist else you will run out of space soon! LPS.. there is so many to choose from, its really up to you buddy! If you have patience and practice good husbandry.. your tank will have less chance to crash.. =]
  19. wow.. awesome scaping.. seems like you already know the do's and dont's about this hobby.. i think you lighting hours are good.. no need to do any twigging.. =]
  20. http://joejaworski.wordpress.com/2008/05/09/does-a-reef-tank-need-carbon/ Bro, i suggest you take a good read of the topics post here.. good luck! http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/forum/6-new-to-the-marine-aquaria-hobby/
  21. bro.. seems like you didnt cycle your tank? shouldnt have added lifestock before you cycle your tank.. there is a chance that you will lose all of them.. your water also seems quite dirty/murky.. might be because you've just put in the sand and water.. if the murkiness doesnt clear use active carbon.. it will make the water clearer
