Saw movement in the sand earlier in the evening when I moved some rocks to catch a crab. (This one quite big ) Guess the fish is still alive. Many thanks to all the bros for the advise.

As above, can I have a brittle star in the same tank as a Heniochus Black and White Butterflyfish ? pls advise.

Thanks for the advise andtsq. I think the 6 line likes to check out new fishes. My clown was a bully when it was in my 1-footer. Now it's been kept in line by the 6line. Guess i'd better put new fish in beta. Those two seems to be a bit bossy for comfort.

Would it be better if I leave fish in beta box for a few days b4 releasing it into the tank? I mean, if I do get new fishes.

Err... you mean the fish with puffy eyes means that it won't survive?

Have 2 turbo snails & a cleaner shrimp Other LS includes a six line, a b/w butterflyfish, a false clown & 2 firefish. Just saw the wrasse briefly this evening. lying on one of the rocks, the eyes looked puffy. Wonder if it will survive....... Not sure if there's a crab hiding in the rocks. Thought I caught them. But saw the cleaner shrimp tearing up one. Don't know if it was just a shell or the crab. (lost a couple of fish to crab. )

Urchin picked up.

Bought a yellow wrasse a week ago. Saw it briefly for the 1st 2 days and was never seen again. How would I know if it is still alive? Was told that it was not advisable to go dig for it. But I only have a 2-footer and is worried that a dead fish might crash the tank. Pls advise.

Being lookin around the forum & see all the nice tanks & setups, is making my fingers itching to rescape. Firstly, do you stick the LR together with epoxy? If not, how to make sure it won't fall apart esp if have snails or sand shifters around? Always afraid that the rocks will fall & break the glass. Then will be in DEEP sh*t with parents. 2nd, can move the LR with the LS inside or have to remove them first? If can leave the LS in the tank, will I kill those hiding in the sand? Got one wrasse hiding in sand for days. Maid saw it for a few sec yesterday, I think..... Btw, my tank is 2ft with IOS (or is it ISO?) pls advise

Decided to let the urchin go to a better home as it is being nipped by the Heniochus Black and White Butterflyfish. Made the mistake of buying the silly fish b'cos son like Mr Gil...... Would any kind bro/sis like to have it in exchange of some live rocks(without the hitchhickers, pls)?

Not Moorish Idol. It's a butterflyfish. Black & white body with yellow tail. As for not being reefsafe, I think this one might not be good too. Made the mistake of buying it without checking on its compatibility. I would have thought that the sea urchin with all its spikes would keep the fish away.

Just bought a b/w butterfly which looks like Mr Gil in Finding Nemo. Seems ok on the first day but last night it started to bite/picking on my sea urchin. Also, the cleaner shrimp jumps on it when it swims near. Do you think things will eventually work out between the 3 of them? Should I feed them more often so they won't pick on each other? Currently only feeding them once a day.

What about water from de-humidifier? I get about 5l of those everyday. I suppose it is water collected from the air through condensation.

My tank is 12 x 9 x 12 inches. Kinda of small, probably enough room for 2 or 3 small fishes only. So far, can only managed to have 1 only, the bully clown made sure of that. Wonder if can put a small firefish. Better not try so soon. Maybe in a couple of weeks.

Thanks everyone for your concern. My tang has passed on this morning. I have been running this 1 ft tank since Oct, and it's my first attempt in marine. So I'm still very green. Guess a blue tang is not an easy fish to keep especially a tiny 1 inch one. When I first added the tang, it was very active and doesn't avoid the bully clown. The only time it's on its own is first thing in the morning, I find it in some corner of the tank, pretty much motionless. Thought it died at first, but a couple minutes later, it's all over the tank again. As for the medication, think it's coral safe so far, cos I did treat in the main tank, & the zoos & mushrooms are still ok. But I did remove the tang from the main tank after noticing that it's condition is not improving. Was thinking of using garlic juice which I read that it treat ich. But fish died b4 I got round to doing it. I think for the time being it'll be a one fish tank, not sure if I want to try adding another fish, and see if my silly clown will knock it down again. Once again, thanks everyone for the advise & concern.

Bought a tiny Blue Tang about a week ago. 2 days later saw white spots on its body & it keeps rubbing itself against the LR. Figured that it's sick so added some medication for ich. It's been about 5 days the spots are gone but it's very pale. Don't think it'll survive much longer. Had a clown which died about 3 days later after turning pale. To add to the problem, there's one other clown in the tank who likes to headbutt the tang. Weird thing is the tang don't avoid the clown and still hangs around it. The bully did the same thing to the previous clown too. So, is the tang sick or injured or stressed? All of the above? Please advise. Guess I'll have to stick to having only 1 fish in the tank. The shrimp & snails seems to be ok with the bully.

Think another name for it is "Strombus" something. Any kind reefer willing to take it off my hands??

Just bought this tonga snail(I think that's the name) to clean up uneaten food on the sand bed. But seems a bit too big for my tank(1 footer) & toppling the rocks. Anyone interested for a swop. Maybe a shrimp or something.... Open to suggestions. Here's a pic of it. Don't know how it got up onto the LR. It's usually burrowing in the sandbed.

Hi, I'm new & in the process of filling up my 1 feet tank. I really interested in how you fit that skimmer to your hang-on filter. Also, what you put in the filter & spec for the skimer. Your tank looks great. Sure don't look like a 1 footer.
