l'm looking for a 2ft tank to set up a new freshwater tank. Anyone selling?

Dear fellow reefers, We are all marine lovers. Pls stop eating sharkfins soup and help to spread the word around, esp during chinese dining sessions. Already, l can see many diners gradually refusing this cruel dish and replacing by mock sharkfins (taste the same anyway) or other soups. And for those getting married soon, pls take this dish off the menu. Only when demand drops, supply (targeted killing) will drop.
-
It's like eating sharkfins. Many will argue saying that the shark was already killed and eating a bowl won't contribute much to help the sharks. Likewise, since corals and fishes are already taken from the ocean, buying 1-2 pcs won't cause much destruction. The problem is when this is added up, it became a substantial amount of demand that more sharks (fishes and corals) will be harvested from the wild. Of course, a few reefers are able to help in breeding certain fishes and corals to be shared around, but it's only the minority few.

Guess as long as we are in this hobby, we are far from conservation, and is inevitably part of the destruction team of the fragile ocean coral reefs. The only excpetion is prob buying only cultured SPS and corals, and farmed marine fishes. Also, selling and passing home cultured SPS around. And buying artificial liverocks like those lookalike ones sold in Golden Octopus. l think what we can do is to minimise the destruction. Read more in forums and books and dun buy species and corals that we know will not last long in captivity. Buying less LPS as l think most of them are taken from the ocean and hard to propagrate.

Buy Sea water or make sea water using salt
Underwater replied to tsktcc's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
For big tank that uses salt mix, unless DI water is used which add to the cost, l'm sure the NO3 and PO4 and other undesirable metals in tapwater would be present too. -
Buy Sea water or make sea water using salt
Underwater replied to tsktcc's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
When i set up my 5ft last time, l go for NSW from Irwana. They just pump into my tank and no mess, and was much much faster and cheaper than sea salt. Almost clear water after 1-2 hrs. No problem at all when i added new fishes after 2 wks. But like what Kelstorm said, for top up or small water change, can use sea salt. -
Watch the 2 video clips on live sashimi...They are sicked! At least the chef can kill the fish before cutting out the flesh. l'm not a vegan, but l think there's no need to eat from an animal that is killed cruelly. http://www.xenvideo.com/2007/02/23/fish-sa.../#comment-39370

It is indeed a mystery cos you said all legs disappeared overnight! Cannot be a predator like harlequin cos it be spotted easily and also cannot be possibly eating up all the legs in less than 12hrs. It has to be damn big or many of them hiding in yr LR to do that...this is weird. What other LS you have in yr 3ft DSB? You mentioned a sea #####? What's that?
-
It turned the fishes to be its playmate.
