  1. There are so many members' tank threads in SRC. Take some time to see their nice scaping.
  2. Very nice. Back to formal glory. You are very good at scaping, love yr leathers and zoos.
  3. David, if i were you, l will leave out the tonga totally.
  4. Like that part where they set up reserves and the excess that roamed out of the zone can be caught by fishermen, sustaining their livelihood. This allow fishes to have time to re-produce and populate the ocean. But using cyniade and explosives which destroyed the reefs are totally out. Taking away endangered species is no no too. i guess it is something that is very difficult to control when Indonesia and Phillipines are so huge and wide. If these go on, one day, there will be no more corals and fishes left for our hobby. Look at the number of shipments entering the LFS every week...the vast quantity of corals and fishes.
  5. Napoleon wrasse killed for restuarants which proliferated crown of thorns starfish, fishes caught using cyniade, turtles killed from drift nets, sharks slaughtered just for their fins and thrown back to the sea to die alive...

  7. You will probably get bored later and change to something else.
  8. Like one bro said, for one that survived, many many othere perished. It's really heartpain and sad everytime when i see a tank full of healthy cleaner wrasses imported by LFS cos i know majority of them will perish within a week. Of course, to some people, they would say, "who cares!" as long as my tanks look nice. LFS should not have imported them and left them in the ocean to benefit other fishes there which will in turn benefit everyone. As hobbyists, we should stop buying them too so that LFS will get that signal.
  9. yr tank is small, you can easily afford to take out the liverocks to catch that bugger out.
  10. A very beautiful tank with very nice corals and fishes. Envy envy
  11. No leh, during my few recent in camp trainings, we still take water from the tap for water parade...prob only certain camps with old water pipes i guess.
  12. they do look like some freshwater tetras...but quite cute though for a marine species.
  13. Those with seahorse tanks would be ideal cos they eat same stuff and it won't compete too much with seahorses since it is also a slow eater like seahorse.
  14. A healthy 3-4 inches copperband butterfly for adoption. Collection at Hougang Central, next to Hougang MRT. - It feeds only on brine and mysis, so owner must prepared to feed these items. Pls PM interest with yr hp.
  15. l didn't know 6 tubes of T5 can boil yr corals...maybe you can consider 4 tubes of 54W? Shd be enough for LPS & softies right? Bro Peacemaker's suggestion think is worth exploring.
  16. if the tank's lights are off suddenly while the room is dark, the wrasses will jump also. l experienced that a few times before. Best to have a cover like eggcrate as suggested by a bro here.
  17. OMG! Sorry to hear that bro. A reefer friend kanna same prob also due to chiller...maybe you want to consider T5, less risky than MH in my opinion. Am sure you will come back strong.
  18. ya, personally i think quite difficult to keep flame angels for long without a chiller to provide cool temp.
  19. 18 tangs + 19 other fishes + corals in a 5ft tank? that's too congested liao. And that's an achievement to keep yr NO3 at only 30.
  20. copperband eating pellets? Wow, how did you train tt fellow to do that? Any particular brand it likes?
  21. i just hope they could take better care of the fishes ended up in their shop. their tanks remind me of those in the restuarants.
  22. if done at a LFS, and if they know you have the money, likely they will push all the high end equipment in their shop into your tank. When you are experienced enough, you will know that a successful tank need not have all the super high end equipment and technology. Read and ask more never go wrong, of course, there are reefers who will always take side of certain products and LFS, so could be bias as one bro here has mentioned. If you are not particular, l always advocate the option of considering buying from reefers who decomm their tanks. Tank is definitely much cheaper and not necessary bad. All my 3 tanks were bought from fellow reefers...and they were good in my opinion. Just my 5ct comments.
  23. If you think that you are likely to go into a reef tank (with LPS corals), skip the lemonpeel angel. Damselfishes can be quite aggressive to new comers added into the tank later on.
