  1. T9% located at seletar Farmway. Lotz of them last week, but pretty big in size, abt 2-3" was the smallest i saw. Could be mistaken though. Imho, snails do a wonderful job in keepin algae in check.
  2. hi ya all, thanks for the ideas in culinary Lobster delights. However, I think Dazza is rite, its a pistol shrimp, makes this snappin sound at night, and excavates my tank for the heck of it Btw, I now know why i was able to catch the bugger, seems that my goby was coverin his ###### all this while anyway, i've decided to let him be for the time being, till i find a way to "ReLocate" him.
  3. hi all, I've a lobster problem. Its abt 2.5 cm in length and its been diggin up sand from under my rocks. Some how, i believe it is linked to a mysterious dissappearance of my Bi coloured blenny... In any case, I've been tryin unsuccessfully to trap the crustatean and its been taunting me time after time by scavenging for food scraps while i'm still going abt feeding. This punk has no respect wat so ever for me at all ! I'm pretty sure it isnt a mantis, though i think i've seen a smaller mantis, red in color, abt 2 mths back, haven seen it since. I've tried the crab trap while the mineral bottles, and the pvc pipe trap. I've even tried to net the entire rock with 1 inch of sand.... so far, i've accomplished nothing other then to scare the living daylights out of my goby, whom might i add, now flips into complete frenzy when my hand touches the water.... any solutions or proven techniques?
  4. hi, The sand sold in our LFS are just sand of different grain size and not live sand. I've seen certain websites sellin live sand too but i'm not sure how much so alive they'd be by the time they reach here In any case, u might wanna ask ard if anyone with a long running DSB to give ya alittle of their sand to seed ur new sand bed. Unfortunately, mine's pretty new so i cant be of service.
  5. hi all, As abv, any one has any idea if any hardware shop ard amk sells acrylic sheets?
  6. hi all, thanks for the replies. I'm planning on a refugrium actually but before the water enters the refugrium, i was thinking of puttin it thru some filter media. I thought most pple would incorperate some form of filter to add to the DSB and LR biological filtration as described by Dr. Ron Shimek. actually i have an eheim Liberty 200 hang on filter , and i have a small 2ft tank, perhaps i shld do away with the filter media.
  7. i recently caught mine. The bugger us damn cunning and if u have alot of rock formations.... good bloody luck haha anyway, I bought a large net, left it semi floatin for awhile to the damsel accustomed to it, and starved it for a day, then when it got hungry and desprate, i fed it and caught it while it was busy chasing food from the opp direction. ps: He's got his own tank now and he's never going back Muhahahhahaaha
  8. hi all, juz got a slump going, hopin to find out what media u guys use. I see alot of polycarbon filters ard, cheap stuff abt 3 bucks or so and activated carbon also, juz looks like black colored polycarbon. Are these these the stuff u guys use? Also, are ceremic rings recommended?

  11. hi all, My blue sponge is in terrible condition. IT seems to be bleaching itself out.... any advise on what i can do to save it. Also, its facing a moderate current flow and on it's surface, there seems to be some brown stuff. ps: I did ensure that the coral din get exposed to air. And my tank conditions are normal.
